Grecian Gardens

My wife and I ate here for the second time on Father's day. Both times we had a good experience. I ordered the New York Strip. It was the best steak I've had in a long time. We've had a number of negative dining experiences lately. Our visits here have been a breath of fresh air. Great service. I highly recommend Grecian Gardens.

My mother and I had lunch here last week. This was my third visit but we won't be back. First, the host acted like there were no seats left. Then when he did seat us a waitress tried to run me down with a huge tray yelling for me to get out of the way. She placed the tray right in the way of my seat and I had to wait for her to finish before I could sit down. When we finally got waited on by our own waitress she acted like we weren't as important as her other customers. Actually the whole staff made us feel like we weren't welcome. We ordered gyros and of course, mine had a long, long hair in it. I brought this to the waitress's attention and she asked me if I wanted to order something else - no charge. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki but she brought me a chicken gyro instead. We had to ask for everything two or three times and she never could get it right. After asking for th tsatziki sauce which the menu stated was included with our orders, i found on our check we had been charged .75 cents each for two tiny containers We never did get the olive oil for the bread. After asking for it several times the waitress brought margarine which we didn't want. Eventually we just gave up. When I checked out, the lady at the register asked me how it was and I told her I wasn't at all happy with the food or the serviced. I even told her about the hair. She didn't do anything to help and didn't really care in the least. Why even ask if you aren't going to make it right? Oh yeah, we were charged for the whole meal inspite of the disaster it was. From now on I'll go to the greek restaurant in Congaree or make it myself. Not a professional in the whole restaurant. They seem to be in it for the money and let customer service go out the window.

I've lived in Columbia my whole life and have made many trips across the bridge just to dine at Grecian Gardens. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. I believe the gentleman who rated it prior to me is a little confused. Ive never had one bad experience at the family owned and operated restaurant in 25 years.

When I went there the restaurant seemed to be a little run down and when the food arrive both my plate and glass seemed to have some weired gunk on them like they were washed well. My giro was ok, but not nearly as good as most giro's I have had. My uncle ordered the chicken special and didn't like it at all. They did have fairly good prices though. I would recommend just going across the street to grouchos, the Italian restaurant or the Thai one all there food is much better and about the same pricing.
