Oceanview Seafood Restaurant

We should have left when the hostess sat us in the back room, at a table right outside of the kitchen. There was plenty of seating out front AND in the back, but she chose that table. We asked to be moved, and we were, to a table that I ended up using napkins and my water to clean off the sticky residue someone had left after they cleaned the table.



Our waitress was pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu and the food. I had shrimp cocktail for an appetizer which was wonderful. These two points are the only reason I've given Oceanview 2 stars and not 1. My husband had calamari which frankly tasted more like rubbery chicken. Tastes like they cook everything in the same fryers.



I ordered the rib-eye and grilled shrimp... the shrimp was dry and over cooked, the rib-eye was probably 1/4" thick BEFORE they cooked it. Not much flavor which is surprising for a rib eye. My husband had the captains platter, which is huge! Sadly, everything on there was obviously frozen and thrown into the all purpose fryolator. He did say the fried oysters were good, the rest was passable and the hush puppies are some sort of preformed rings.



At their prices, I would have expected a much better quality of food. Unless you're looking for overpriced Long John Silvers, stay away from Ocean View.
