        Law Auto Sales began as Law and Kowalk back in 1938. Francis X. Law, who fathered 10 children, 6 of which were boys, began the business with a small used car lot on Livernois Avenue with a partner by the name of Frank Kowalk. As his sons grew older, Francis began to employ his boys and eventually split his partnership with Kowalk and moved the lot to Grand River Avenue near Oakman Boulevard. The company now assumed the name of Law Motor Sales. The boys became adults and eventually branched out and began their own car lots. At one time there were 3 different lots within a quarter of a mile on Grand River competing against each other! Francis retired in the early 60's and his sons Nestor, Vincent and Thomas continued to run the various lots on Grand River while sons Dick and Jack took jobs at new car dealerships. His youngest son, Jerry, had died tragically in a car accident in Canada in the late fifties.

        Law Auto at first comes off like a top-notch car dealer. Smooth talking Brad tells you what you want to hear, but the minute anything happens to the vehicle you purchased everything changes. You then deal with the owner Vince, who it becomes very clear with, you do not matter; only his bottom line. Intentional fraudulent acts by a dealership intentionally postponing the issue by putting thicker oil in it to hide it from me, banking on that the oil wouldn’t be changed until after the warranty period so they wouldn’t have to cover it.

        Just blindly go there for your car needs and here is my story...just 1 hour ago
        Went to about 12 dealers before stepping into LAW auto sales to sell my car.
        Beleive me, the only delaer to receive a customer with a smile among the 12.
        Took my car for a test drive, arrived at a figure and negotiated for a reasonable price.
        Paid immediately, Did the paper wrok in 10 mins and dropped me back home.
        Very polite, professional and trustworthy.
        Personally very happy.

        We only had $4000 to spend and needed a dependable vehicle. Law Auto had trucks, SUVs, vans, compact cars, midsize cars, and large cars to choose from. The have a wonderful website with detailed pictures and they post the Carfax on every vehicle for FREE! This tells you a lot about used vehicles. When we went to buy a vehicle, their salesman, Ian Hannan, was exceptionally kind, patient, and went to great lengths to answer any questions and address any concerns. He spent most of his day letting us test drive vehicles and helped us find the perfect car. We bought a beautiful 2006 Buick LaCrosse.

        I was looking for a 4x4, but did not want to buy new. I’ve wanted a Jeep for a very long time and that’s saying something from a dye hard GMer. I searched online for what I wanted, then went to Law Auto and worked with Brad Law on finding me my Jeep. He found me ‘more’ than what I was expecting, a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. Very nice vehicle. Brad went above and beyond.
        I will definitely be a returning customer in the future and would highly recommend Law Auto.
