General Info: The Laurels of Chatham The Laurels of Chatham work as a team to promote the highest level of independence and quality of life for our short-term and long-term guestsâ??whatever their needs. Thatâ??s because we view each guest as part of a family whose members deserve not only great care, but also compassion, dignity and a sense of purpose. We have quickly returned many short-term rehab guests home after hospitalizations. Perhaps thatâ??s because our therapists work with each guestâ??s physician to create a customized care plan. We also are pleased to provide short-term respite and hospice care.

General Practitioners

Primary Care
Yes! We believe it is every Guest’s right to choose their Attending Physician. The physicians that see our Guests must complete the Facility’s credentialing process which includes having a current license to practice medicine in the State where the Facility is located.
Family Practice
Dr. Corey is Medical Director and an attending physician at The Laurels of Chatham. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. He practices as a Family Doctor at Pittsboro Family Medicine in Pittsboro, NC.
Immunizations
Per CMS, indoor visitation is currently allowed for all residents, and vaccination status does not affect the ability to visit. However, visitors are still required to follow facility policies, wear appropriate PPE, and observe physical distancing during their visit.

Multiple Sclerosis

Radiology
Medicare Part B is the "supplemental medical insurance" portion of Medicare. Part B covers physician services, outpatient radiology and laboratory services, therapy, medically necessary ambulance transport, certain supplies and equipment, and a few other services not covered by Part A. Part B does not cover most outpatient medications. Part B is a voluntary program that requires eligible individuals to enroll and pay a monthly premium. Most people with Part A choose to enroll in Part B as Part A and Part B are designed to provide a comprehensive health plan when used together.

The Laurels of Chatham employs a team of highly qualified medical professionals, including a Medical Director, Registered Nurses, Restorative Care Nurses, a Wound Care Nurse, state tested Certified Nursing Assistants, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and a Speech Therapist. Our on-site Rehab, Dietary, Social Work, and Activities departments provide personalized and compassionate care to each guest. From the moment you walk through the front doors, the warmth and caring of the staff will begin to gain your trust and confidence, as they strive to exceed your expectations.
