Bonne Terre Country Inn & Cafe

After attending/being involved with a wedding at Bonne Terre on June 13, 2015, I was not only upset, but angered by the management of this facility. When I initially pulled into the venue, I was blown away by the beauty, the serenity. It was literally like something out of a "country style" magazine- almost antebellum. After entering the hall where the reception was being held, I was floored by the rudeness and unprofessionalism of SOME of the staff. The hall was said to hold 150+ people- NO WAY! There were 9 of us in there, tables, buffet, bar, and some décor; on top of what was being brought in for the wedding- and we felt on top of each other. So add 150 guest, food, decorations, tables, DJ booth and servers- talk about everyone on top of each other. But this is not the worst of it all- the bride was in tears, the groom was livid- as their special day, their day to remember was being sabotaged by the lady who was running the place. SHE WAS BEYOND RUDE! She booked a wedding in the chapel on the same day as the couple's whom I was there with. She had promised they (the wedding just before the one that had been scheduled first/the one I was with) would be out in time, however, 10-15 minutes is not enough time to change one wedding to another! We (the wedding party and myself) had to rush in (seriously frantic because we wanted our friend's wedding to be as magical as they had envisioned it) to decorate and get prepared for the wedding. The lady that was "running it/managing it" (the venue) had a horrible attitude, even worse demeanor and words were anything less than professional! To the point she was arguing with bridal party members, with coordinators and making a scene for the guest that were already arriving! Not once, not twice, but multiple times were the groom/bride threatened with additional fees and breach of contract- thankfully they had everything in hand, including text messages (which are legal forms of contracts between two parties) showing that they were not the one breaching the contract, that in fact the lady running it was!! Luckily- the members and guest came together to do the job of the venue to make this wedding go as planned! If you want beautiful landscape, down right country feeling- this is your place. If you are looking for southern hospitality, good management, and friendly attitude- you are looking at the wrong location!!

very rude management - ruined brides wedding day less than 4 hours before her wedding - manager walks into room without knocking - just walks in!!!!!!. was upset because of bottle water in the room - yet sold us champagne and strawberries for the room but wanted us to drink bottled water in the cafe?



DO NOT GO TO BONNE TERRE!!!!!
