BUYER BEWARE of Emily Salon & Spa on both 48th Ave and Center Blvd!!



Long story short, I called to make an appointment, one hour before going to the salon. Over the phone, the male owner told me that the price of a blowout was $50 for long hair. When I arrived, the male owner greeted me, remembered me from the phone, and sent me over to the salon side of Emily's. From the moment I sat down in my chair, my stylist was unhappy. She kept huffing and puffing and halfway through my blowout employed another assistant to give me a "special treatment" because I have "[sigh] too much hair." 1 hour 15 minutes later, she had a somewhat frizzy, overly hair sprayed blowout to show for her time. I was short on time, so I did not complain about my hair.





When I went to the front counter to pay, the same male owner that I had spoken to just 2 hours prior, tells me that the cost of the blowout is $77.50. I then told him that I had spoken to him on the phone not 2 hours ago and he had emphatically told me that the price for long hair is $50 and that he was engaging in fraudulent business practices. He proceeded to argue with me and tell me that "he does not set the prices...it all depends." Who, pray tell, set the prices besides the owner of the place?! He then went to his wife and has a heated discussion with her in Korean. The wife comes running over and starts SCREAMING at me in front of all of the customers and tells me that they wasted one hour of their time on me and that I am a "miserable" person. Somehow, I managed to waste her time despite giving her $77.50 worth of business. Go figure. She then has the audacity to ask me to tip the stylist.



Ladies--go to Primp & Tease, go to Phoenix, heck, go to the male barbershop on Vernon Blvd to get your hair done. Anywhere is a step up from this place.
