Downtown Animal Hospital

Been taking my "babies" here since at least 1999. All of the vets are caring and professional, and their staff are awesome and loving. I tried two other vets' offices before going here, and I've never gone anywhere else since.

Used this clinic for my animals for around 30 years. Wonderful staff and doctors. Dr. Carter is very caring and takes very good care of my dogs. The doctors are very thorough in this exams and they take the time to explain any problems my dogs have. I have boarded them at times and have been pleased with there care. Two of the three dogs have come home with scratches and raw noses but that is probably the result of them being in strange kennels and not at home.

I was very disappointed with the care my dogs received whilst boarding at Downtown Animal Hospital. One of my dogs came home limping with a clearly injured leg and some anti-inflammatory meds, My husband was told that he had just started limping that morning and they did not know what had happened but vet couldn't find anything specific on exam. My other dog had small cuts/scratches on his snout, no explanation offered to my husband who picked up the dogs. Both dogs were extremely agitated and so my husband thought it best to bring them directly home, leaving their beds behind. The next day when I went to pick up their beds, they couldn't find them and told me they would need to check with an employee who wouldn't be in until 3:00PM and they would call me once they found the beds. I was absolutely furious, first my dogs had clearly been injured and no one had any explanation, then they lose the beds. I asked the receptionist to have the managing vet call me as I was certainly very unhappy with the care and she suggested since I obviously went somewhere else for their vaccines maybe in the future I should board my dogs with that vet. Unbelievable...oh and of course the managing vet did not call me to discuss my concerns nor did I get a call from reception, instead my husband called back the following day and was told the afternoon person hadn't come in... eventually the beds were found put in a bag in a closet. We decided to use this vet for boarding at the recommendation of a friend whose relative worked there, NEVER AGAIN. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS. Update Jan 3, 2015: Although very active, My dog Rusty still limping, took him to our vet today who examined him and diagnosed ACL tear, clearly other vet at Downtown either did very poor exam or flat out lied to my husband. Will be repaired Monday for fee of $1,000, this due to Downtown Animal Hospital negligence and by the way, managing vet never returned my call as asked. Maybe he will return my attorney's call.

We have been using this facility for over 30 years! The staff is wonderful and the doctors are amazing! I highly recommend Downtown Animal Hospital!

Dr. Houston is awesome! She was so sweet and caring toward my dog. She answered all of my questions very thoroughly. She was extremely patient and caring towards me and my pet. Dr. Houston is an example of how all veterinarians should be! I can see that she genuinely cares for the animals and their well being, and that's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks so much Dr. Houston!
