Tropical Acres has been one of my favorite restaurants since I moved to Fort Lauderdale. My first visit there was for an event. The place was packed, and the food and service were excellent. I've since gone back at least 3 or 4 times a year to satisfy my need for its old Fort Lauderdale look and style. Food and drinks are always great. Service is exceptional. I've never been there when an owner has not been on site. Always friendly. Great steaks. Great everything they serve. And the prices are reasonable.

Last night was our most recent visit to Tropical Acres. All in our party had the "early bird," which consisted of any entree on the menu plus soup, dessert and coffee or tea, thrown in at no additional charge. I chose the prime rib, accompanied by onion soup, salad, baked potato, ice cream roll cake and tea. My husband and the seafood pasta platter with a red sauce, accompanied by onion soup "au gratin" (an up charge of $2.50), Cesar salad…he skipped dessert and tea. Our dinner companions had a seafood with ziti and red sauce, broccoli cheese soup, salad, iced tea and rum cake, and rib steak, salad, onion soup "au gratin", ice cream roll cake and iced tea. The servings were so large, we each took home enough for a good lunch the next day. The total bill came to under $100 for all of this. Best of all, however, was the attentive, friendly, prompt service, provided by a waitress and a helper. We will definitely go back…if only to be served by Donna once again.

From the appetizers to the entrees, filet mignon and New England lobster tails & the grilled seafood plate, not to mention the delicious NY style cheesecake, homemade on premise, the meal was wonderful. Our servers Shaina and Joe get a 5-star review as well. Attentive, friendly, knowledge of the wine menu, they made absolute sure, it waa a perfect birthday dinner. My friend Betsy Melamed, a restaurant owner herself, highly recommended Tropical Acres restaurant, and she was spot-on. She and all us, we all enjoyed the evening. Highly recommend.

We had the LOBSTER SPECIAL tonite at Tropical Acres. It is a family friendly deal because of the price and the large lobster portion. It was delicious and filling. Tropical Acres is a cozy kind of FAMILY restaurant. The prices are reasonable, the food is GOOD and the portions are plentiful. The wait staff is always friendly and accomodating. The restaurant caters to a middle class crowd. It is NOT pretentious or up-scale. You get bang for your buck and there is a wide assortment of entrees from which to choose. Some nites they have a pianist playing a variety of selections from the GREAT American songbook--which makes the dining experience even nicer. This is a nice restaurant, where you will feel satisfied and well treated when you have finished your dinner.

We have been going to Tropical Acres since 1969 the year we were married. We have moved to Flagler beach but we always go back to South Florida twice a year ( especially on our wedding aniversary). We have always recieved great service with quality food. The early bird menu is great.

We've had dinner twice already since Tropical Acres "re-opened" and the food has always been Excelente! My husband always has the prime rib and I the filet mignon. Service has always been great! I would specially like to mention this past dinner when we were served by Janet and Mary! Kind, Sweet and lovely to deal with! I commend them! Janet even gave me complimentary offer card for our next visit. Totally unexpected!

Tropical Acres makes the best steak I've ever had. We ordered the New York Strip for Two. Pittsburg-style - charred on the outside, very rare on the inside. I don't know where Tropical Acres gets their steaks, but this is by far the most tender and flavorful New York I've even eaten. I can't buy that steak at my local Publix.

We sat at the bar, it's own separate room with dark wood and fish tanks. I highly recommend sitting in there if you can. And Tommy the bartender is totally on the ball making sure the drinks were fresh and the food was served steaming hot. No waiting there!

Every time I visit Florida, about every other year for the past twenty years, I always visit “Tropical Acres” for my favourite dish, PRIME RIB. In looking through other reports on this fine restaurant, I have not seen a single entry about their Prime Rib, which has to be the best in the world. I remember one occasion when I was actually able to cut the meat with my fork. This being said people I have dined with, have never had a bad meal or complaint. It is truly an amazing family restaurant, and lives continually up to its reputation for fine dining. They have an excellent web site which covers all else you might need to know about the restaurant

I have found Tropical Acres an enjoyable place, primarily because as a Corporate traveler, it is comfortable and friendly to eat in the bar. Tom, takes a personal approach, getting to know his customers, ensuring they feel welcome. As a result, I enjoy frequenting the restaurant. The food is prepared to my liking, and the service and the atmosphere is welcoming. Hats off to Tom for ensuring his customers are satisfied!

I first was taken to Tropical Acres as a kid back in 1969 by my dad. Been coming here ever since. Had the opportunity to go back for dinner and good as ever. A terrific steak done just right. You don't have to go to a upscale new fangled steakhouse like "brimstone" and pay $40+ for a steak. I would recommend Tropical Acres. They know how to do steak just right. Looking forward to my next visit.
