Overall

This is a long post, but read it if you are considering renting from TD Real Estate. I lived in one of their houses for several years and had nothing but a painful, headache-filled experience. The office staff does not communicate with each other and is extremely insufficient. For example, they request that you submit service requests on their website, but whenever we called to follow-up on something, they “never saw it” and “don’t know how it fell through the cracks.” Yet, when it comes to charging you for any services, they are very prompt. We had a PVC pipe that started leaking everywhere (it was poorly duct taped to the floor) and when someone came out to look at this, we were charged $75.00 for them to kick it back into place. Yet when our basement flooded (due to their negligence with sprinkler issues) and the insulation needed to be replaced, we had to contact them multiple times to address the issue. The same happened with our hot water heater. It required replacement due to a carbon monoxide leak and we had to keep contacting them to get it replaced, even though it was a health hazard. The owner of our house decided to schedule repairs to our roof without consulting anyone. It was a lovely surprise when I woke up one morning to roofers stomping around on the roof. When I contacted TD regarding the issue they had no idea and said they would make sure it didn’t happen again. Well it happened again and the roofers showed up a second time without warning. Clearly the communication between their staff and the homeowners is inadequate as well. Don’t even bother talking to someone in the office who “will relay” the message to the appropriate person, it won’t happen. Another warning- DO NOT expect to get your deposit back. While TD is a third party that does not have much say in which vendors are used at move-out, the owner will use the most outrageously priced services. We were charged over $800.00 for a “deep cleaning” of our 3 bedroom house which we thoroughly cleaned upon move-out. We had the carpets professionally cleaned and spent several hours doing our own cleaning. I looked into the cleaning company they used and could not find a website or any information. All we could find is that they are a registered business but were registered less than a year before we moved out. It definitely seems suspicious. Apparently the agents for the homeowner wanted to take advantage of us by using the most expensive cleaning services available and taking our money for it. There is no consideration for the residents. No one is perfect, but we were taken advantage of and, from the other reviews, it looks like we weren’t the only ones. I have rented from several different places with all types of landlords, but this one takes the cake. It was like pulling teeth to contact them and to ever get anything done. I have worked in property management for several years and have never seen anyone treat residents as poorly as TD Real Estate and the homeowners do. I highly advise that you take these issues into consideration if you are thinking about signing a lease with TD Real Estate.

Horrible people!

They not only treat people like dirt, but now they are holding my deposit to fix siding on an apartment building for holes caused by mice. They have lied for the last 3 months and made dealing with them a nightmare! I have never taken the time to write a review, but these people need to be out of business. I can't understand how they sleep at night knowing they are stealing from people!!! I am disgusted!!!

DO NOT RENT FROM TD REAL ESTAT...

DO NOT RENT FROM TD REAL ESTATE. If I was able to give them 0 stars I would. We experienced problems from the start with this company. The house was dirty when we moved in. One day we woke up to an eviction notice for failure to pay rent, when the rent had all been paid. I used automatic withdrawal for my rent, which I immediately regretted. They "couldn't find" my first rent payment, which resulted in the eviction notice. The money showed as having been taken on my bank statement, and the mistake was only corrected after we called them. Another down side of the automatic withdrawal, is that they continued to take rent money from me for two months after I had moved out of the property. There were multiple occasions that we were told problems would be taken care of and they were not. We had to call them multiple times to get anything accomplished. They owe us a lot more of our security deposit, but are charging us for things that were noted in the move-in packet, as well as yard work done over a week after we vacated the premises. We had the yard done the day before we moved out. They also had things replaced that were not broken at the time of move-out and they have no documented proof of why they were replaced. It seems they wanted to update things on the house, and decided they would just make us pay for them. I am fairly certain the employees have no clue what they are doing or know anything about rentals/real estate. Overall, the most incompetent, frustrating company I have ever dealt with. Again, DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.

DON'T!!!!! This review is real...

DON'T!!!!! This review is really only pertaining to one person. This person so happens to be the owner. Actually he is far from an owner, he is deceitful, and lead my roommates and I to believe something that was very untrue and if not for a huge waste of my time would of taken him to court. Let's start from the beginning. I have rented from this company for five years and until they were bought out by TD everything was fine. About two years ago my roommates and I decided to move from the current property we rented from TD in which we had lived for two years prior. Not to go into too much detail and make this a book about how poorly they conduct business. We really did not expect to get any of our security deposit back.....(read previous review, and you will realize why I say this). So, about two months later we receive a bill for $800.00 dollars. Mind you this is on top of taking our $1300.00 dollar deposit . Lets do the math, $2,100.00 dollars. Absolutely ridiculous, there was by no means that much money in damages and the work that was done to the property was questionable. Again, being the people my roommates and I are we decided to possible pay some of the repairs that were done.....but not all! We agreed to set up a payment plan with them. Here is the kicker they said that would be absolutely fine and would get back to us with the most applicable payments. Not one word from them for over a year. I personally sent emails and called to try and see what was going on with our situation....no answer, not one! Here comes the best part, a couple months ago, my roommates and I including our parents get turned into collections. Not one warning letter stating we were being sent to collections, nothing. Which is very illegal. At this point I am irate. I called and emailed, you guessed it, Tim. Finally an answer, and I quote, " now that you are turned into collections, they still get there cut (way professiional) and I would be happy to set up payment plans for you through the collection agency." I was in very close contact with this collection agency throughout this whole process and not once did they receive a call or permission from Tim to allow us to set up payments. If you are firmilar with this country, your credit score is all you really have to go off when applying for anything ie, car, house, boat etc. Being the responsible young adults my roommates and I are, we paid the fees to the collection agency and are out from under this situation. The associates at TD are very polite and will work with you when given the chance. But under this new ownership will lose all credability. Charging payments over the allotted security and damage deposit is illegal in Colorado. I recommend never renting or even associating yourself with this company.

If there was a way to give less stars than one, that is what should be given for this company. Absolutely incompetent and horrible.

Never use this company. The worst real estate agents in Colorado! It is widely known by locals that they take advantage of tenants and fail to complete their duties as landlords. They lie about house conditions and steal safety deposits. Beware of this company!
