Marion County Humane Society-No Kill Shelter

What a caring and pleasant staff. Although the facilities are pretty old and outdated, they take really good care of the animals. I am so appreciative that Marion County has a no kill shelter option. Bless these employees!

Very knowledgeable caring staff. Clean facility. I fostered a puppy from this facility and was very pleased to know they are adamant about the safety, health and medical attention of each animal before adoption. Most kitties are in community rooms. Potential adopters are screened, references checked. Very thorough.

I took my daughter to visit the facility with the hopes of finding a kitten to adopt. We were shown several adorable kittens, and my daughter fell in love with one in particular. We filled out the necessary paperwork, and were told that the manager would have to evaluate the forms before proceeding. They said that the manager would call the next day. My daughter waited by the phone all day...no call. I had my daughter call them the next day. She never got through but left a message to please call us back. No call. I tried calling several times over the next couple of days, leaving messages each time. No return call. When I finally did get a human being, she said that the manager was not in, and that she could have her call me back if I wanted. I laughed and said OK. It has been four months, and I still have not received a courtesy call. Luckily for my daughter, we were able to get a kitten from a friend who fosters kittens in Mon County.
