Duke Manor Apartments

I wish I could rate this place a negative one. I was here from out of town visiting a friend. In the 2 weeks I was here he made numerous calls to the office about the upstairs tenants constantly banging on the floor and a child running up and down the hall way. This went on all hours of the day and night. It would sometimes start as early as 6 am and still continue until 3 in the morning. Again, he made numerous calls and the office and they do nothing. Then there is the ROACH problem.....and I mean ROACH PROBLEM. I made sure my clothes and everything I took home were washed and inspected and packed in the car the night before I left. His apartment is immaculate, and yet there are roaches climbing the walls, and when I opened the microwave there was one in there too. It is so disgusting! I wouldn't recommend this place to a homeless person, there are less roaches on the street!

Don't live here if you can . I am a white male and live in these apartments with my girlfriend. We are quiet people that keep to ourselves, and we have received more complaints about being loud (must've been reading out loud again) having a pit bull in the house (Boston terriers are aka pit bulls?) And have had two cars towed from visitor parking. Also a violation for not cleaning up after the dogs (we do). There are roaches everywhere.

This is the most horrible place. I unfortunately have leased the apartment online and the first day I arrived there were roaches. I told the leasing office about the roaches and they sent the exterminator who never was successful in getting rid of the roaches. I had to get rid of all my furniture when I moved out because the roaches have infested everything.

The property manager is not a nice person at all.

When it comes to safety, there was always police cars investigation the murders that were happening there.

You can easily find firearm bullets in the area all the time while walking. Also snakes in the grass areas.



The buildings are very old and there is plumping problems all the time. Also the kitchen appliances are very old and consume lots of electricity, so your electricity bill will be always over $70.

I have reported maintenance problems many times even to the property manager and I never got a response back.



Some of the staff are very nice but most of them are not.

So I would certainly NOT recommend this to anybody. Even though it is cheaper but the bills you pay because of their poor construction are higher so another more expensive apartment complex will be cheaper if you add the bills of power and water.



They have no washers or dryers. Their laundry matt is horrible and it charged me more than once because of the poor design.



They take very high deposit money for pets compared to other newer complexes and the money is not refundable. Also you have to pay monthly rent for the pets.



I have also noticed that they come to your apartment when you are absent without asking for your permission which is not accepted and not mentioned in the lease.



When I moved out they sent me huge bill of damages that were already there when I moved. And I had no option except paying.



It was seriously a nightmare and I am really HAPPY I got out.

TERRIBLE apartment, customer service, and parking policies. My mom visited me to celebrate my birthday and her car was towed- cost her $220 to get it back!!! What a rip off! She had to buy a cab to take her to the towing company. No warning was issued- just found the car gone. She thought car was stolen and called the police and everything. During this time, Duke Manor could not be reached to figure out what had happened. Turns out Duke Manor has a deal with a towing company. Very shady. That fee is ridiculous considering the incomes of most people who live in Duke Manor. Apartment also has a serious bug problem despite an exterminator coming in. Apartment does not feel safe at night with many people congregating outside near the entrance to my apartment. Walls very thin and can hear EVERYTHING from neighbors. Will be telling all my friends and writing many negative reviews!!!! Will take down these reviews only if Duke Manor will reimburse my mom for the towing.
