Drug Crimes

Homicide
Michael Tumposky is a talented litigator who has tried numerous cases to verdict in both state and federal courts. He has also represented clients before the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the Supreme Judicial Court, the First Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States. In 2014, he was appointed to the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Boston Panel. As a member of that Panel, Michael is one of a very limited number of attorneys in the Boston area certified to accept appointed federal criminal cases in the United States District Court. Additionally, in 2018, he was chosen for the CPCS homicide panel, where he serves as one of the few, select attorneys screened by the public defender’s office to represent individuals charged by the Commonwealth with murder.
Arson
Our office took over an arson case after the client lost at trial. We obtained a reversal of the conviction on appeal.
Restraining Order
During law school, Hannah completed internships with Hedges & Tumposky LLP, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, Community Legal Aid’s Housing Law Unit, and the Greater Boston Legal Services Welfare Law Unit. While interning with Hedges & Tumposky, Hannah worked on cases involving terrorism/national security, manslaughter, RICO, and civil rights. She also represented clients in front of the Department of Unemployment Assistance as part of Northeastern’s Poverty Law & Practice Clinic and successfully represented a client in a motion to expunge a restraining order as a Rule 3:03 certified student attorney. Hannah also co-chaired the Multicultural Law Student Association, served on the Elder Council of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and was an active member of Queer Caucus and the NUSL softball team. Finally, Hannah was Editor-in-Chief of the Northeastern University Law Review, where she founded and led the Law Review’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee.
