Dental Examination

Oral Cancer Screening
Your consultation will include a comprehensive periodontal education and oral cancer screening, as well as necessary dental radiographs and a thorough periodontal evaluation. We will also take extraoral and intraoral photographs which aid us in treatment planning and evaluation.

Teeth Cleaning
The best ways to initially prevent the start of periodontal disease is to routinely brush and floss your teeth twice daily. It is also important to have routine preventative exams and cleanings with your general dentist so they can detect any areas of concern early on in the disease process. Avoiding certain habits, like smoking, can also help lower your risk for developing periodontal disease.
Dental Sealants
Dr. Goggin has a passion for helping others through dentistry and has served the people of Honduras, Nicaragua and Haiti on dental mission trips. She has also participated in the North Carolina Mission of Mercy dental clinics and sealant clinics at AB Tech. Dr. Goggin has been Donated Dental Services volunteer through Dental Lifeline Network since 2020. Dr. Goggin and her toy poodle Rosebud are a certified pet therapy team and they share their time by volunteering locally and visiting nursing homes. Crowns
Crown lengthening is usually performed to improve the health of the gum tissue, prepare the mouth for a procedure, or correct a “gummy smile”. The procedure involves reshaping or recontouring the gum tissue and bone around the tooth in question to create a new gum-to–tooth relationship. Crown lengthening can be performed on a single tooth, many teeth, or the entire gum line.

Dental Implants
Today, it is often possible to re-grow or regenerate bone where we need it for the support of dental implants. This, in turn, gives us the opportunity to more effectively restore esthetics and function to their natural state. Bone grafts can be from your own bone, tissue bank, or synthetic materials. The goal of each of these treatment options is to stimulate the body to grow new bone or to hold the space for the bone to regenerate into.

Ridge Augmentation
Ridge Augmentation is a technique used to restore the lost bone dimension when the jaw ridge gets too thin to place conventional implants.
