grose

The worst food and service... Lattice was wilted soggy and warm in the salad. The turkey was old dry. The Ckn fried stake tasted frozen and frost bitten. Saw the waitress at the end of the meal, never came buy to see how the meal was, never refilled my tea... Such a disappointment since my family has been coming here for over 40 years. don't go save yourself

The most horrible restaurant experience in my life. First of all, the food was okay but overpriced and the slice of pie was tasty but........ The sewer line backed up which is something they could have easily avoided. We thought we had stepped on something and we're checking our shoes. Then, the sewer pump truck showed up and pumped it out 20 feet from our table! The noise and the stink was so bad we couldn't eat. The bill came with no apologies. We will NEVER go there again.

What a great place. I have lived here my whole life. I think this place is the best kept secret! OakTree Village Oak Glen awesome day trip. We had the best Hambuger and Chicken Fried Steak ever! And to top it off if we finish our meal we got seconds! (that is the policy). Best food and service ever. we loved it. we then went to the animal park, petting farm and my son caught a trout, yes they have fishing too. We definitely will be back. Thank you for such a fun day.

Despite the fairly good food and generous portions, the overall ambience is lacking. With the exception of a server or two, the hostess and other servers are not very enthusiastic and accomodating. You don't want to frequent a restaurant that makes you feel like they are doing you a favor by having to wait on you. I say this as a person who is appreciative and not a demanding customer. You just want to have a fairly pleasant experience. I have been here more than once, and probably not again. Yesterday's experience: After hostess yelled out "5", "5", referring to number in our party, our family was seated in a booth. I was tempted to yell back, " Are you talkin' to me?" We were advised to "sqoosh-in" after asking for another chair. She did ask if it was o.k., but with a stare that had a look of admonishment. Server, though pleasant, did not return after she left our tab. Never had spoons. Trusted us with the forks and knives though. Had to get sweetener packs and dessert menu from next booth. Sweet sis got up, paid, and retrieved leftover containers for our food. After observing friendly server (working her tail off, next booth) my sister, in a gutsy move, presented her with the tip. She was surprised but appreciative. My tip? Go to the Apple Dumplin' Cafe, in the Parrish Pioneer Ranch area. We have not been there in awhile, (will go there next time) but remember it fondly. They even advertise that they have great food and friendly service! Also... Why are there artificial flowers stuck in all of the planters and flowerboxes around the restaurant and Oak Tree Village area ??? It's springtime after all, and it does look a bit tacky, people! After all is said and done, everyone can decide for themselves. I'm sure the Apple Growers' Assn. would want the public to be feelin' the "Mile-high fun for everyone!" We made our own fun. Overall
Great service and Outstanding food.

I was just in today and almost did not go because of Maasaa's review. I am glad I went. The facility is hard to find because of all the places that give directions are giving it wrong. Once you get to Oak Glen you must stay on the Oak Glen RD until you go East past Potato Canyon Road. Once past the Potato Canyon Road it is about 2miles up on the left (north) side of the road. Look for signs to Oak Glen Village. Apple Annie’s is in there. If coming from the East then watch for signs to Oak Glen Village and a small sign that Says Apple Annie’s.

I had the Cowboy Steak. It was to die for. I had mine medium rare (with pink in the middle and charbroiled burnt on the outside, just as I told the waitress I wanted it. It was Perfection itself). It came with Honey cornbread (which my wife stole) a plate of spaghetti, a bowl of vegetable soup, a green salad, and a piece of Apple cobbler that both me and my wife ate from and we still needed a too go box for what was left.

I talked to the owners daughter about Maasaa’s review and she told me that it was her (the owners daughter not the owner) who tried to help the family but they were not cooperative the wife and the husband, separately, barged into the Kitchen and were complaining while the Manager (the owner’s daughter) was trying to figure out what she could do to fix it. The family then, with crying children who did not get to eat, left the restaurant while the manager was dealing with getting their meal into line in the 32 orders that were already “on the wheel.”

The service we had was fine, the place did not stink, and they played old style Grand ole Opry music by Patsy Cline, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Buck Owens, Roy Clark, Tammy Wynette , and several others that made me feel as if I were back home. I love that place. I cannot give a dime away for a tip unless I feel it is justified. I left $10.00 on the table. I do not know Maasaa, who obviously did not want to leave their real name, but I really liked Melba (our waitress) and the manager (the owner’s daughter). I would believe her version.

Overall
Stinky, flies, owner/waitress lousy

We sat at a table that was in the back room, which stunk of bathroom cleaning products. Gave us a headache. Our waitress (later known as the owner) hardly came to our table to check on us during the >40 minute wait for our food. Then she tells us that our order was not cooked. No apology, no offer of a snack for our starving and cranky toddler and infant. Still no food so we decided to leave and go to McDonald's. Upon exiting the owner would not even look at us and say "sorry." Clearly their mistake but no apology offered. Bad business/customer service. Oh yeah, flies all over us at our table too. Who would want to eat here?
