The Small Household Model Culture Change and the LIFE program at Oasis at Dodge Park and Small house philosophies encourage flexibility and responsiveness to resident’s needs and desires and the plan offers several common areas that will allow variety and choice. Each household has its own dining area, living room (day room) , dedicated activity spaces that will support appropriate activities to people with different cognitive abilities. Each household also has a residential family style kitchen that serves as a front to a commercial style serving kitchen behind it, where residents can freely access juices, fruits and light snack. Household Details for the Oasis The Oasis at Dodge Park will care for a total of 82 (after completion of phase II) residents with memory impairment (Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, in residential settings). First phase will accommodate a 50 residents. Phase II will accommodate 32 residents with the intention to increase capacity to 51. The Program is designed to decrease inappropriate stimulation, enhancing each resident’s ability to effectively interact with and perceive what is going on around them. The Alzheimer’s Program staff receive special training and seek to adapt to each resident’s individual patterns of behavior. In this way we provide the best possible environment for every resident so that he/she can be successful in the tasks of day to day living. Our compassionate and caring staff provide a warm, homelike environment that enriches quality of life for older adults living with Alzheimer’s and memory disorders. Caregivers Support Group The Oasis at Dodge Park would like to invite you, the spouse, and/or the caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer disease to take part of our monthly support groups. Caregivers Support Group The caregivers support group is open to all of Oasis customers and family members and to the general public. The support group meeting is FREE. Light supper will be provided. Activity and supervision for memory impaired individuals will be provided for FREE by our Day Club personnel during the meeting. The caregivers support group is meeting on the second Tuesday of each month. The meeting is taking place at Dodge Park Rest Home which is located at 101 Randolph Road, Worcester, MA between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Participation in a support group can be an empowering experience. The groups are designed to help members feel better prepared to cope with their unique situation. Support group members report feeling less alone, more able to confront their daily problems, and more hopeful about their future. Better than Assisted Living The Oasis at Dodge Park provides a higher level of care than traditional Assisted Living care and it is the ideal solution for seniors who value their independence, yet need more assistance with daily activities, and not ready or want to move to a nursing home facility. We encourage continued independence through a tailored plan of individual wellness and personal care. Team members are available 24-hours a day for help with bathing, dressing, medication reminders or other activities at our well know all inclusive ONE-RATE program. No limit on level of care. The Oasis At Dodge Park is not only a homelike, resident-centered alternative to an assisted living facility it is a completely different option for a senior who doesn't require intensive, skilled nursing care making it better than assisted living for many seniors. The Oasis at Dodge Park is a one of kind, a brand new state of the art facility licensed by the MA Department of Public Health to care for those diagnosed with dementia and/or Alzheimers disease in residential setting. Our People are the Oasis at Dodge Park Difference The Oasis at Dodge Park team members are selected for their big-hearted approach to fulfilling the individual needs of seniors with respect and compassion. Team members skills are then fine-tuned through the award-winning Oasis at Dodge Park in-service training program to ensure continued implementation of Oasis at Dodge Parks principles of service program for the residential care model. The Individualized Service Plan (ISP) We respect that individuals have their own needs and preferences right from the beginning. We meet with each resident and their family before move-in and at regular intervals afterwards to help determine appropriate care and service. The Oasis at Dodge Park team then works together to create an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) of senior care and service that is monitored daily. The resident service plan might include help with personal hygiene and grooming, dressing and clothes selection, showering and bathing, assistance with eating, continence management, mobility, socialization and medication management.
