Mr. Sturgeon had focused a large part of his practice to domestic law and in addition to divorces, he handled custody suits and visitation and select child support cases, as well as adoptions.
Mr. Sturgeon practiced in all the courts of Mississippi and devoted much of his practice to work in the Chancery Courts of South Mississippi. He handled probate, real estate closing and all types of real estate work, and also Bankruptcy and select personal injury cases and general litigation.
During his long career he developed a well recognized expertise in Criminal Law, teaching criminal justice at the University of Southern Mississippi from 1963 through 1979. He had extensive experience in probate law, wills and estates and administrative interests. He also served as School Board Attorney for Wilkinson County and Youth Court Prosecutor.
