Body Plex Woodstock keeps charging our account after we moved out of the area and after we paid a $50 cancel fee. Anyone else having this issue feel free to contact me on Facebook. What kind of business practice and lack of integrity to good paying people.

Childcare & canceling nightmare

I had repeated issues over my 7-8 month nightmare! I repeatedly had to complain about childcare issues with the night staff. They were young, always in their phone & it wasn't sectioned properly for babies & younger kids. I never felt safe leaving my baby when I went & felt I had to ask my older kids to watch him. That's crazy! Next it was always very dirty. My husband and I noticed a piece of food by the cardio machines for over a month before it was cleaned. Makes you wonder how often they clean. I liked the classes & two girls that worked kidsplex in the morning but otherwise was totally dissatisfied! It's very dark & depressing in there. No windows. They were never really busy anyway which makes you wonder! They removed all their bad comments off google reviews. It's shady. My final straw was when I had them terminate my contract because of the awful childcare issues & they signed & agreed to release me no additional fees. Luckily I had them print me a copy bc they charged me again & it's been almost a month & they haven't returned it. They never call me back. I keep calling for Chris, their manager but she never calls back. Shady! I finally called my bank to didpute the charges & put a block on my card. Do not go there. It's not worth the cheap prices they might offer to lure you in. It's not even technically Bodyplex anymore. They are becoming Superior Health.

Overall

From the childcare to the over drafting of my credit card. This gym caused me so much stress. It is dirty and the staff is not honest. I was over billed plenty and given a number to call. I never got a refund. I thought the gym was over priced for all the old machines and classes that are from 1980. The place has no windows and is the worst gym I have ever belonged too. I am at Gold's now. If Bodyplex gets hold of your credit card, you are in trouble. It is suppose and I use that word lightly, owned by Christians but they never helped me and kept my money. In a bad economy, that gym will keep on billing. My children kept catching colds there and the childcare is run by young teenage girls who have no clue what is like to be a mother. Save your time and money and look at WOW or LaFitness, they are all about the same price.

Please do not join. They keep on charging your credit card and it took 3 months of bad charges before they stopped after I changed my card and told my attorney. This gym is old and run down and needs to be redone. The classes do not compare to Gold's or Lifetime. I had a really hard time because the staff is so rude. Woodstock has plenty of other nicer gyms that cost the same. Please do not make the mistake I did. The machines, plenty of them are broken. I would look elsewhere for your fitness needs.

This is the dirtiest gym I have ever been too. The roof has 4 or more leaks. I got tricked in to signing a one yr agreement I can not get out of. The classes are from the 1980's. The equipment is outdated. Their group fitness instructor who runs that area is not even close to what is current. The whole gym is outdated and dirty. La Fitness has better equipment, workers, trainers and all over staff. It is clean and cost the same. I am happier there although since being tricked into signing a one year contract. Now, I have 2 memberships. I heard it is being sold to someone else so be weary about going there. I am unsure of that. However, with the leaks everywhere, the smell and broke down equipment, it could be true. Again, not sure but it is as clean as a dirty barn. I had the worst experience there. My advice, LaFitness is the better choice. They bill month to month and are much nicer.

I moved here from Texas eight months ago. I signed up for a one year agreement, even though I was told it was month to month. I have had major billing problems, and every month is a hassle because I get double charged. I joined the gym mainly for body pump, cardio, and free weights. This health club has the worst body pump classes I have ever taken. The instructors are out of sequence. The spinning bikes are out of date, and that room gets way too hot. There has to be a problem with their cooling. The sales person lied to me about my contract. I have contacted the owners numerous times with no reply. The front desk staff, sales people are arrogant, unfriendly, and I feel uncomfortable around them. Be good to yourself. Join LA Fitness and avoid Bodyplex's billing processes.

I hated this gym and was over billed on a regular bases. When they get your credit card infor, you are stuck with problems. The gym is not clean. The workout rooms have warped floors. The classes are boring. I hated the childcare. It has a bunch of teen mom looking people working in it. The equipment was always broken and the bathrooms stunk. The worst part is their rude staff and trainers and group instructors. They seem unqualified compared to Lafitness. Words of advice, their billing is sketchy and it is not clean.

Biggest nightmare of my life. ...

Biggest nightmare of my life. I signed a membership contract with this Bodyplex last year with the manager Paul. I let Paul know that I was only going to be in Georgia while my husband was deployed and would be returning to California sometime around November. He still recommended the 2 year contract because of some discount and assured me that it was "so easy" to cancel and that there was no cancellation fee. Of course this was my fault for not reading the fine print. Everything seemed to be going fine and I enjoyed my workouts. Then I had to move an hour and a half away for the rest of my time in Georgia. I called the Bodyplex and asked what I needed to do to cancel. I was told that I could bring in my Verizon bill with my name and new address as proof (aha, sneaky bastards were lying). This turned out to not be true, but they played along with this idea for awhile. So, I brought the bill and signed the cancellation form with Paul. Next month, I get charged. I call 4 days in a row and finally get to speak to Paul who then says he will have to look up my account and call me back. A week goes by and I get no call and finally make the trip to Bodyplex. Paul makes some story up about changing billing companies and so it must have not gone through or whatever and assures me he will send it in again. Skipping a few months, I get charged a total of four months. When I finally moved to California, I got to speak to Paul again after a million calls. He says something about sending it in and to call in 2 hours to see if it goes through. I call...he's busy. I call....he tells someone else to say he hasn't heard from the company. I call again and he yells "I'm a busy man" and hangs up. I finally go through the third party billing company and am told that they have received not one piece of paper about a cancellation. I send in my California lease and it's finally cancelled. Now so that I don't rattle on for 10 more minutes, I get some calls about owing $133 as a final fee, turns out that was completely wrong and it's $85 (still no call back from their supervisor) and so I call Paul asking if he can wave this since I've paid this last 4 months = $140. Of course Paul is playing games again and so I have filed a complain with the BBB.



The best part of this whole story? The third party billing company says that wireless bills are not accepted to cancel memberships. So, I was lied to at the beginning and even though I still have that bill it doesn't count. But the real kicker...I can't find my copy of the cancellation form that I signed originally with Paul. Of course he knows this and this is why he is playing me like a puppet.

This one will cost you...

Credit card autopay is the method of payment and they will continue to charge even after cancelling with a 30-day notice. They change how they accept cancellations but do not bother to let the members know. So when you comply with the old policy, they then tell you that "it doesn't count". Very disappointing. Being a member here will cost you long after you decide you don't need the service anymore. I would encourage consumers to look elsewhere for their fitness needs. If you do decide to use this gym, please do not give them credit card information - work out another way to pay or move on.
