Archstone Woodland Hills

I have lived here for over 2 years. To put it plainly, thi place has gone from bad .. to extremely excruciating in about 4 months. Oakwood wasn't great, but at least they practiced standards, Archstone will let everyone and anyone live here. Allow me to explain a typical day if you decide to live here.



You will wake up earlier than expected due to weird noises in the hall, and come home to find random ghetto-gang kids from the surrounding neighborhood swimming, playing basketball and scouting cars in the parking lot. You will find yourself hearing your neighbors while trying to enjoy your night, and don't bother using any of their "upper crust" amenities which allow them to charge what they do,half the time the hot tub has been turned off, or shut off by security to make their job easier. If its open, you'll find yourself surrounded by either students or people in rehab smoking/drinking and using drugs - mostly WITH the security guards, to get extra time at night after closing. Crazy drunk people have been arrested in front of me in the commons area, infants have been stolen by drug users and rescuer by other drug users, I've seen one woman so drunk she was carried away on a lawn chair completely out.



It's pretty clear, this place went from like 80% occupancy to 50% in months time, Oakwood sold it, now Archstone doesn't want it and sold to Avalon Bay. Archstone obviously doesn't care about their residents due to their behavior. They shut practically EVERYTHING down so a CBS pilot could be shot around the commons area, they block off parking, and the worst party- the guards at night, instead of asking us to leave, hit the emergency shut off button to close the jacuzzis down. The problem - it costs approximately 2,000 to heat it up EVERY morning, but Archstonecdoesnt care because all residents split the entire complex bill.



For someone who lives in a studio apartment for around $1250 a month, it's a huge waste of money and you pay for other people's electricity and utility use. If you're here now, get out while you still can. If you're thinking about looking at this place to rent, move along. You've Been warned.
