The process starts with a dental examination. A local anesthetic is used to numb the area and holes are drilled in the jaws. The number of holes is equal to the number of mini implants fitted. The mini implants are screwed in place and fully tightened for optimal fit. The next step is to mark the positions on the bridge or denture where the mini implants will be fitted and modify the prosthesis to match their disposal. If the prosthesis is not made beforehand, teeth impressions are made for its design.

“I have been a patient of Dr. D’Apolito for over 22 years. In those years I’ve had many treatments, from teeth cleaning to Root Canal Therapy. Dr. D’Apolito explained before any treatment, why and what he was going to do. I have been very satisfied and pleased with his work, and in the professional manner that he goes about it. His staff is very polite and professional, and is always there to answer any questions. His office seems to have the most up-to-date technology and I have never been to a cleaner dental office. I recommend Dr. D’Apolito to all my friends and family....”
Tooth colored fillings are a necessity for most cosmetic dental procedures, as they allow us to match precisely to the rest of your teeth. Even if your teeth are stained or yellowed, composite resin acts like normal tooth enamel, and can be whitened as if it were a normal tooth! Be careful, however, as composite resin can be stained by substances like coffee, just as a normal tooth can.
Veneers
Is chipped or cracked tooth enamel marring your smile? Don’t worry; with porcelain veneers, you will get a new and aesthetically pleasing look.
Crowns
Dental crowns are fixed dental prosthesis that cover the upper part of a natural tooth. Also known as “caps,” dental crowns are one of the most commonly employed treatments in the dental clinics. It is a cap that is tooth shaped and covers a particular tooth to re-establish its size, appearance, shape and improve its strength.
Bridges
Known as the fastest, cheapest and most effective way to treat a dental gap, the bridge is popular all over the world. The reasons for which people turn to dental bridges for replacing missing teeth include...
Dental Bonding
Cosmetic Bonding: This procedure is used to fill in the spaces between teeth. The tooth surface is widened and smoothed so as to fix any cracks, fissures and abnormal in-between teeth space. Bonding is the least expensive procedure to fix such problems. A tooth-colored plastic is applied to the tooth and then it is hardened using the UV rays. The cosmetic dentists then trim and polish the material to give it the desired shape.

The mere mention of the term, “root canal” makes most of us go crazy with fear. But root canal therapy is a common dental procedure to save an abscessed tooth.
Partial or full tooth loss, if left untreated not only affects your self-confidence but it also increases the risk of developing other systemic health and nutritional problems. Thus, it is critical to go for partial or full dentures to restore your confidence, bring back your smile and make chewing and eating a normal process.
Overdentures
Dentists try to save whatever possible from the natural teeth, regardless of their condition. Natural teeth help maintain the jawbone in good condition and provide good support to the dentures. The overdenture is designed to accommodate the existing tooth or teeth. Dental implants can also be used for support.
In times where look matters a lot, cosmetic dental procedures have gained a lot of popularity. Dental implants are the most comfortable and efficient treatment for tooth loss. Designed to blend in perfectly with natural teeth, dental implants are the best option to restore your smile.
Tooth extractions mean removing the tooth from its place in the bone. The extraction is done in dental offices, by the dentist or dental surgeon (a dentist with surgery specialization), under local or general anesthesia. The professional tooth extraction is recommended when the tooth decay is severe, and nothing can be done to save the tooth, when the tooth is affected by infection or is vulnerable to infection, because of a gum disease or a health condition.
Porcelain veneers are a thin piece of porcelain to recreate natural looking teeth. Also, it provides resilience and strength comparable to the natural tooth enamel. Porcelain veneers are one of the primary tools of cosmetic dentistry. Suitable for a great variety of patients, the small porcelain sheets “dress up” the natural tooth to correct color, shape and size of the teeth and to fill in interdental space which may be otherwise difficult to cover. Also known as “instant orthodontics”, the porcelain veneers offer a bright smile. If you are planning to go for porcelain veneers as a cosmetic procedure, here are the most important things you should know about the porcelain veneers.
Teeth Whitening: The perfect shade of white can only be obtained with the dentist’s help. Whether you choose pure laser teeth whitening procedure, a two-session whitening with bleaching substance activated by a laser or a home kit with the personalized mouthguard, the teeth whitening procedure should only be performed in the dental office to minimize risks and intensify results.
