Powell AC & Heat

We hired Allen Fitzer the owner of Powell AC & Heat LLC to install two minisplits in our home. He was very nice and appeared attentive to the job and it appeared everything went well with the installations because the units worked. We even tipped him $550 for the service. Well just a few days later the larger minisplit in our Fl room started leaking. Allen came back out and couldn't figure out what was wrong. He actually came back twice, and we gave him a couple hundred dollars cash for coming back since we live way out. Well, the unit continued to leak. Allen started procrastinating about coming out. He promised to come out several times and never showed. He kept promising and making appointments having my husband stay home from work etc. Well we found out Allen put a small insulation at the end of the line, but did not insulate the line at all and so the system kept leaking. We couldn't use the system because it would run water all down the walls and ruin our floor. After about the 10th time I threatened him that I would file complaints and would he just please get out here and fix the unit. He ignored us again, and again. Now, the unit won't even come on because the freon has leaked out. It's very hot in Florida and this is large room with no air. We tried reasoning with him in every way. To think we gave him a $550 tip which we now know was too much and too soon. We gave it to him on day one assuming the units would work properly because they came on in front of him. He also took our warranty books and was suppose to return them after he filled them out with his license number and haven't done that. We are so disappointed in him and his work. I would not hire him. He does not do good work and then doesn't stand behind his work, or properly address the problem. He should have known to insultate the line. Do not hire him. He is not dependable, and does not do good work.
