I am a 4th grade teacher that just visited this place. The staff here was extremely disrespectful to our students. The comment was made “Do you speak English?” as a student was performing. I am HIGHLY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS PLACE & I WILL NEVER visit this place until they undergo some sort diversity training & training on how to deal with children of ALL races!

This is a magical place! They provide children with knowledge, history & story telling that is often a lost treasure. They set high expectations for children and have them think about how they will be our future leaders. I have known these ladies for years and both of my children have had the opportunity to perform in their reader's theatre. It is amazing how quickly they can put together a show, with full costumes and have the children listen while it is their peers turn to perform. Everyone gets a part and they leave knowing they can be anything they want in life with hard work and dedication!

This was HORRIBLE I went there and they thought I was a girl and my hair is short, said I was a baby in a mean way and I wasn't even talking, said who wants to be a football player, I raised my hand then she yelled at me "You could never be a football player!" the play was made for two year olds, and they booed me after I did my play, and yelled their lungs out to my classmates and sent them to the time-out corner, their in 8th grade! This was not worth my money I would rather give up 11 dollars and get sick then come here.

When my son was young, he attended this theatre and performed there several times. I have always been inspired at the way in which these two gentle souls can handle 100 or more elementary children, get them in costumes, and teach them so much in so little time. They have to deal with whiny disrespectful children who have obviously been coddled and allowed to do as they wish. While they try to work with these spoiled children, these women choose to look beyond those who attempt to disrupt everyone, with the hope of reaching those who really have an interest. I applaud their efforts and patience, as well as their amazing talents!

My 4th grade son went to a field trip here yesterday. He came home to say it was the worst field trip ever. The ladies in charge - granny blue ridge and mama blue - yelled at them, called them babies, said if they couldn't follow directions they would end up losing their lives (??), and that they'd fail drivers ed (Fourth graders), asked the boys who wanted to be football players and when they raised their hands she said "too bad, be a lawyer" He said she yelled at them for the majority of their time there. The school actually said this field trip didn't require parent volunteers and now I think I know why. The teachers know these ladies act like this every year and didn't want the parents to see it. Terrible place. Don't send your kids

This place is a complete rip-off. For $11, my son said a woman blabbered for an hour and he got to color a paper bag puppet. He said it was boring and a total waste of time. I registered a complaint with my son's school about this scam. Do not send your child here!

My son has gone to the Heritag...

My son has gone to the Heritage Theater twice with school and now begs me not to go again! He has always loved field trips but this place must be pretty awful for him to dislike it this much! He says everyone groaned when they heard they were supposed to go there again this year. What a waste of time and money!

Do Not send your child here

My son went on a field trip to this awful place yesterday. He came home very upset and told me that the woman in charge "Mrs Blue?" Had pointed him out in front of all his classmates and asked him if he was a boy or a girl! (My son has the shaggy hairstyle that a lot of boys are wearing, but it is not long) he told her he was a boy and that she was rude!! She ignored him the rest of the day, which was probably a good thing as he said she was rude and hateful to everybody else. I wonder if "Mrs. Blue" gets a thrill out of humiliating 6th graders? What business was it of hers if he was a boy or girl?? Obviously this person does not think before she speaks?? Or maybe she is just filled with hate?? Think long and hard before you send your child on a trip to horrible place unless you feel they need some humiliation!
