Dr. Rohrer is a magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University and the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Yale University Hospital and a residency in dermatology at the combined Boston University-Tufts University program. He completed a Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Rohrer is one of the nation’s leading experts in both cosmetic and surgical dermatology. Dr. Rohrer has published extensively in a wide variety of dermatologic and cosmetic surgery journals and is an editor of five textbooks on surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He has been elected to the board of the prestigious American College of Mohs Surgery, the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology.

Mohs Surgery
Dr. Solky received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. He subsequently completed his dermatology residency at the Harvard Medical School in 2004. Dr. Solky is fellowship-trained in dermatologic surgery, Mohs surgery, and reconstruction and he received this training at the Mayo Clinic in 2005. Dr. Solky is board certified in dermatology. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. He has taught Mohs surgery and reconstruction as a faculty member of the Department of Dermatology at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Solky’s clinical interests at Dermatology Associates are general dermatology and Mohs surgery.

Botox
Botox treatment is a very effective procedure for reducing wrinkles between the eyebrows, on the bridge of the nose, across the forehead and at the corners of the eyes (crow’s feet). By injecting tiny amounts of botox into specific facial muscles, the wrinkles and lines made by these muscle contractions can be relaxed or blocked. The procedure only takes 15-20 minutes to perform. The full effect of the treatment takes approximately 3-7 days to occur. Most patients describe the sensation of the injections as “little mosquito bites” because the needle used is very tiny. It is advantageous to avoid aspirin and motrin for the week before your injection to minimize the chance of a bruise.
Lip Augmentation
Dermatology Associates offers a free consultation with our laser nurse to determine whether or not a patient is a good candidate for fillers. Fillers are injectables which are used to fill certain wrinkles. The most common site is the wrinkle that appears from the nose to the corner of the lip (nasolabial line). Fillers are also used for other wrinkles around the mouth, lip augmentation and repairing various facial imperfections. At the consultation all your questions about the procedure can be answered except the physician would ultimately decide how much product is necessary to achieve your desired results. The nurse can estimate a quote based on the number of areas being treated. She can also explain why it is important to have the procedure done by a provider with experience. Dr. Price earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed her dermatology training at the Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Price’s research has focused on evidence-based complementary and integrative therapies for skin health. She has authored many peer-reviewed publications and has presented both nationally and internationally at professional educational meetings including the American Medical Women’s Association Conference, the Integrative Dermatology Symposium and the Hair, Nail and Anti-Aging Symposium. After larger procedures the patients can experience a mild sunburn sensation that lasts 10-15 minutes. Patients are welcome to stay and apply cold packs which will relieve this sensation. Once this subsides there is no other tenderness or discomfort with this treatment. The treated lesions will turn into a dark brown, “paper thin” scab. Patients are allowed to wear make-up, shower and exercise as usual. The nurse will explain which facial regimens should be avoided for one week. The light scabbing will naturally peel off in one week and most of the lesions will have disappeared revealing a more youthful appearance. A follow-up appointment is not necessary unless a patient desires additional treatment.
Chemical Peels
A chemical peel uses a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. Chemical peels can effectively improve a wide variety of skin conditions including: fine lines, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation and sun damaged skin. This is a physician strength glycolic acid peel that incorporates buffering agents to minimize any redness. Microdermabrasion
The microdermabrasion unit is a device that directs micronized crystals onto the skin. In the hands of an experienced technician, this stream of crystals can be used to abrade the outermost skin cells. A small vacuum removes the crystals along with the outermost layer of skin. It is the combination of the exfoliating and suctioning processes that produces the desired effect.
