As a local dog walker, I am frequently asked by clients who I would recommend to treat their pets & provide boarding services. -And my response each & every time is "The Wilmington Animal Hospital.". The doctors, technicians & staff are not only skilled, efficient & knowledgable. But they care for each animal as if they were their very own! Our three Labrador retrievers, have been patients for many years, and now consider the "Wilmington Animal Hospital" to be their home away from home. The minute we pull into the parking lot, they are overcome with excitement, because they know they be treated like "royalty" the minute they walk through those doors. The facility offers numerous services, such as medical care, grooming, dentistry, boarding accommodations & products. What's more, they have flexible office hours to accommodate the working pet owner. My husband & I have nothing but praise for the Wilmington Animal Hospital" & give it a 5 Star Rating!

WE (my many cats and 3 dogs) have been patients at WAH since 2008 and I wouldn't dream of ever changing vets! I am completely thrilled with the blend of traditional and homeopathic care. And I find all the staff there (including front desk) to be a delight. I adopted one of my cats in 2008 - he was seen by vets at two shelters AND at other practices and always given a clean bill of health. The first time Dr. E saw him, she diagnosed a congenital diaphragmatic hernia that had been missed by everyone else. Ozzy now leads a full and healthy life thanks to the corrective surgery. I have been to at least 3 other practices in this area and have finally found the best! Appointment scheduling great, waiting time in office great, surgical care great, routine and homeopathic care great, and love the web site and Pet Portal for keeping up with everyone. Cannot recommend highly enough... and I do every time I do adoptions for cats from a local shelter.

I have been taking my dogs to the Wilmington Animal Hospital for years and wouldn't consider going anywhere else even though I live 45 minutes away. It is definitely worth the trip. The staff is friendly and helpful. Several have been at WAH for many years. The veterinarians are so kind not only in how they treat the animal patients but also how they take into consideration the anxiety of the pets' caretakers.

I raise my dogs holistically and Dr. Epstein is an EXCELLENT homeopath and supports me in my decision to feed my dogs a species appropriate diet-raw food.

Just last month I took my Scottie,Argyle, for a non-anesthetic dental cleaning with Laura who did a phenomenal teeth cleaning job. Argyle's teeth were sparkling and when they were finished half an hour later he said,"Look, Ma! No cavities!" Laura is his new best friend!

Please check out the WAH for your dogs. You will not be disappointed!

I am amazed that there are any poor reviews for this practice. We used them for years while we were in DE and loved them. I felt my dogs got very good care at every visit. We actually started using them when one dog's paw got hurt. I had never actually been there before, yet they took me right away to examine her. And they were terrific for boarding - even picking up cheeseburgers so my picky little dog would eat something!

this should be zero stars not one star. don't go to this piece of crap vet. bottom line is they don't listen and they don't prescribe what's best for animal. my cat was given a medication that was pretty severe...while there were better and less harsh options out there. the cat developed a "syndrome" from the medication. the vet should have said that this was a possible side effect and to give us a warning as to what signs to look for...and they didn't. the cat got worse and passed away. they should be ashamed of themselves for what they charge. they are far from a decent animal hospital. just keep driving instead of bringing your animal there.

I disagree

I have taken my animals there for 13 yrs. with no problems. They staff is very friendly & good with the animals. The cost of good care for your animals is expensive no matter where you go. I love W.A.H

Overall
Overpriced

Do not get any routine shots here. They are way too overpriced because of overhead. They vet we saw (Ladman) also had no personality and didn't even ask me my name when I was bringing my animals in for their first visit there. I can't speak for the other vets there or for the other services they offer but I would hold out getting your shots somewhere like the delaware humane or faithful friends where it is a 1/4 of the price and you know your money is going to a good cause.
