        Dedicated in 1836, and faithfully restored and maintained by Community of Christ since 1880, the Kirtland Temple is now owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a significant spiritual and historic site, the temple is open to the public for tours.

        There is a lot of information available about the temple and the history of Kirtland. There is a nice video that gives a brief history as well.

        We really enjoyed the opportunity to tour the temple and hear of some of the stories that are not commonly known.
