Nachbar Rare Coins

We worked with Richard Nachbar when we were selling some coins for a relative. We were a little unsure, because we know nothing about coins. He spent a lot of time with us and explained the values and histories of the coins to us. We were very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. We definitely recommend him to anybody looking to sell coins.

I have always found Nachbar Rare Coins to fair and honest. I recommend them to anyone looking to sell their collection. He got me the most amount of money I could expect for my coins.

We've seen his big ads in coin publications for years, as well as his disingenuous promises of his retirement from the business for years. Nachbar advertises cases where sellers have done ok, but not the ones where he rips people off. I have heard of numerous cases where he misrepresents what he will pay when you ship items to him and then bullies prospective sellers into letting him have even certified coins, etc. at "his" grade instead of what PCGS and NGC has graded them. He claims they are improperly graded! I would avoid this con, and look around for honest dealer like Heritage Auctions, Apmex or Stacks Bowers.
