James City Veterinary Clinic

This is the first vet I took my dog Aurora to when I got her as a puppy. Dr. Bates took the time to make sure she was really comfortable because she can get anxious. The staff is great with her, and they always send reminders for vaccines. They are very professional and caring.

James city veterinary clinic is very helpful and organized. I always knew when my pets' shots, etc. needed updated and I always knew when I went on vacation that my dog was taken care of here. They also were very helpful and understanding when my cat Pauly took a turn for the worse. The vet walked me thru it and explained everything about what was happening. They did everything they could to help her but she passed away due to the condition she had. They were very respectful with my feelings and let me come back to see her whenever I could before she passed. I really appreciate everything they did for her in that short time to try and save her. ALWAYS Available.. They are great with sending reminders for check-ups... there when emergencies happen they were very supportive for our pet and what she was going through. No extra charges or "scare tactics" . Real Doc who gives a hoot. Definitely encourage others to visit .

I have been taking my pets (babies) to Dr, Bates who has a one man veterinary clinic for two years. He and the staff are very personable and knowledgeable. I never leave his office in Williamsburg with unanswered questions. I would highly recommend anyone seeking any type of treatment for their pets to give James City Vet, Dr. Bates a call. It will not be a wasted appointment .

Just got off the phone with Amy!! She was SOOO helpful!!! The staff has always been great and I have boarded with another vet once and was not happy with the way Sophie acted when we got her back. She was a different dog for a week or so. When we boarded with JCVC she was the happy dog she has always been when we got her back!! Thank you for everything!!!! See you Thursday!!

I just moved from New York to Williamsburg, and I've not been very impressed with other clinics in the area. But the staff and vets here are really great. Highly recommended!

Very Very Professional Care here! Both of my show cats had a mysterious illness that numerous other clinics could not diagnose. Doctor Bates ran a few specific tests and was able to quickly pinpoint the problem. The clinic has been around a long time, and Dr. Bates is really in tune with animals. The clinic may not have the newest "Pet-Hotel" boarding or other gimmick features that you see these days, but it doesn't need that stuff. For knowledge, compassion and surgery expertise I now wouldn't trust my babies anywhere else.

This is one of the best vet clinics I've ever been to. Dr. Bates has a real knowledge and almost dog-whisperer type of connection with animals, and I've always trusted and felt very comfortable when my pets were in his care! The folks here truly know what is best for your animal. Where others have failed this place always succeeds.

I would never go back there. The people were nice but I fell like was taken advantage of. My dog had a few simple problems and my bill ended up being way to much. I have never had a vet bill that high. I believe unnecessary test were done and I was sent home with lots of medication that I did not need.

I recently had an experience with this Animal Hospital.

There was a misunderstanding with my bill. I had work done on my cat here before so they had my credit card info on file.

The girl who works there took it upon herself to run my credit card WITH OUT MY PERMISSION!



I wrote Dr. Bates about the incident as a courtesy just to let him know.



He never responded to my letter. That;s what this is really about.



Be careful! That's all I am saying.
