I had a ticket, I went to court on the day they scheduled. And lo and behold, they couldn't hear my case that day. So I missed my classes AND wasted over 2 hours driving because they were trying to extort from too many people. I go back again, and they couldn't hear it...AGAIN. The next day the scheduled me, same deal. 3 wasted trips, it's almost as though they were hoping I would fold and just pay the extortion fees to fund this illegitimate system that WE FOUGHT TO ALLEVIATE OURSELVES FROM WHEN WE FOUGHT FOR OUR INDEPENDENCE. Pay the salaries of those involved in the system that to allow this extortion racket to perpetuate. The only reason many of these people are in this field is because THE JOB MARKET IS A DESERT! There are no productive jobs where people are creating and developing things that help improve the quality of the community. We are far too reliant on the government, because that is the only..."good" job to be had in many areas. The only (legal) jobs with benefits and a salary high enough to support their families. So we can't really blame those people, but this system is flawed and decaying, trying to put out a last stitch effort to retain authority and control by trying to keep progressive ideas under the guise of being too good to be true. But that's just part of the way things are currently, unfortunately. However, we can overcome the moral illegitimacy this system has succumbed to by realizing the issues at hand, and working together to overcome them and make it a system that works for the collective good, while also allowing people who are forced to spend their time dealing with it to walk away a better person and not someone with a profound distaste of the experience and those involved.
