Established in 1979, Metro-Meridian Alternative High School enrolls approximately 75 students. The school s academic curriculum includes art, psychology, biology, reading, writing and math. It is staffed with a guidance counselor and teachers. Metro-Meridian Alternative High School features a student council that is comprised of a group of parents, community members, business representatives and school staff members. The school s conducts various fundraising activities. It is a part of Wichita Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. The district s schools conduct special education classes for children with developmental disabilities. Its schools parent-teacher resource center conduct regular parent-teacher meetings.
