Dr. Joseph took care of my daughter when she was young and placed braces on her and did an exceptional job. Today, she has been told she has TMJ. She first saw Dr. Larewnce Wright that took her for 880.00 for one visit with xrays, and a plastic looking retainer for the bottom of her teeth. I called Dr. Joseph office and he is going to see her for nothing the first visit and if she needs to be referred she will be referred to an in plan Dr. in Washington, PA. Dr. Joseph and his office staff are exceptional people caring for the patient and not the all mighty dollar. He deserves a five star rating and I give it to him and his staff! Thank you for being wonderful, caring people!

Dental Examination
Dental examinations and cleanings - The patient should continue with proper oral hygiene procedures at home, to include thorough brushing and flossing techniques. The patient should be seen by their family dentist at least every 6 months for cleanings and dental examinations.
X-rays
These records, which include cephalometric and panoramic x-rays, digital photos and study models, help your orthodontist determine what treatment needs to be done.

Teeth Cleaning
If plaque remains on the teeth for any length of time, it can leave a permanent white scar on the surface. A waterpik or an electric toothbrush can be a useful addition, however, please continue to see your dentist at least every 6 months for regular dental cleanings.

Dentures
Retainers are made of a thermoplastic material that is sensitive to excessive heat, so they should be kept away from heaters, dishwashers, car dashboards or any place where the temperatures exceed 115 degrees(F). The retainers should be cleaned before and after placement in the mouth. Because the material used for fabrication is slightly porous, plaque tends to cling to the surfaces. Gentle brushing with a toothbrush and a mild liquid soap will remove the plaque. A denture cleaning solution, such as Efferdent, will aid in the removal of plaque and tartar. Be sure to rinse the retainers thoroughly after cleaning to remove any cleanser residue. If you have tried these methods and they still are not as clean as you would like, bring them in to us and we will clean them in our ultrasonic cleaner.

Dr. Dan Joseph graduated from West Liberty State College in 1975 receiving his Bachelors of Science degree. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1978 at West Virginia University. Following dental school, Dr. Joseph completed his orthodontic residency at Washington University in St. Louis, earning a Master of Science in Orthodontics.
