Stokes County’s most unique outdoor recreation destination!Jessup Mill is the 100-year-old restored grist mill, standing on the banks of the Dan River, less than 30 minutes from Hanging Rock State Park and Pilot Mountain State Park. Whether you’re coming to camp, tube, check out an event, or simply see the mill, we’ve got a family-friendly atmosphere, lots to do, and new and old friends stopping by daily.

We offer tent camping, river tubing, canoe & kayak access and events like music and movies. Camping We host tent camping at a unique location on the Dan River. Our basic tent sites are on a grassy lawn that is shaded and cool most of the day. Our riverside and hillside sites are deck-like wooden camping platforms nestled in the rhododendron and mountain laurel.Our bath house opens in Spring 2012 Picnic tables, grills, a sink and a few of courtesy outlets for your electric needs are available. Our outlets are shared and intended for quick things like a recharge or inflating a mattress…not running your home away from home , thanks. We’ve also got yard games like horse shoes, bocce ball and washers available. There are a few communal campfire sites, we have seasoned, local wood available for purchase. Tubing Ready to get away from the crowds and spend some quality time on a truly beautiful stretch of the Dan River? We have a couple of options for tubing the Dan River at Jessup Mill. the Fun Run: $5! spend about an hour on the river floating from the Jessup Mill dam to our take-out on a nearby farm. Leave tube at take-out for a shaded 5-10 minute walk back to the mill. No shuttle required, no hot bus, trail by river and easy access if strolling parents want to keep an eye on floating kids. the Middle Way: $10 as the name implies, more than a fun run, but no long haul. spend about 3 hours on the water and get out at the mill. the Long Haul: $10 this is a day long float of around 6 hours and is more active than most tubing runs. check our water page to be sure the river gauge is between 1.5 and 2 feet. Any lower and there’s a bit of walking, any higher and you should be in a boat! you must leave by 1pm so arrive by 12:30 so we can shuttle your car to the take out.
