Matthews Robert L & Associates

Ive been taking my children to dr matthews for over 20 years and so have numerous friends.i chose this office because dr.matthews has such a good reputation. He is actually very conservative.Prior to seeing another couple pediatric dentists his treatment approach was the least invasive. I saw the above review and felt i needed to respond. I assure you whatever he did was needed. Theres always one wanting to pass the blame. Awesome place!

Sure the office is cute and appears very child friendly.....everyone smiles and tells your child they are going to be like "big people" and go into the office alone. Then you come home to read reviews about parents not being allowed into the rooms, children being man handled during cleanings. My experience at the kids dentist in west springfield was awful. No dentist ever came out and spoke with me about what my son needed. Office people were rude and not very helpful when it came time for payment. I was told by Dr. Matthews my sons needed all kinds of fillings and extractions and caps/ crowns. Dental work totaled close to three thousand dollars. I couldn't understand because my son had a beautiful smile. I paid for the dental work to be done and by the time CROWN NUMBER 5 came I decided to question WHY ALL THE CROWNS????? I took my son for a second opinion and low and behold I find out my son never even needed half those crowns or teeth being pulled. Now I have a 5 year old who is terrified of the dentist, a million dollar mouth and an empty wallet. I started doing more research to find I am not the only parent with these same complaints. This dentist sees dollar signs and does not give a hoot about the child. He only cares about what he can bill the insurance for and charges you twice as much if you don't have insurance. My child has had 5 visits their and I never once even met the dentist. In addition to that one of my sons crowns is so LARGE AND BULKY He was asked twice by his teacher and once by his pediatrician to " SPIT" his gum out. The pediatrician was appalled at the quality of dental work....She actually thought my sons crown was a wad of gum.....my poor son !



DO NOT GO HERE - THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT KIDS !!! They just care about taking advantage of parents during a difficult economic time.
