Founded in 1965, Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union is a coeducational Jewish day school that serves more than 850 students in kindergarten through grade 12. The school provides a dual curriculum that integrates Jewish and general studies. Its academic curriculum includes English, language arts, mathematics, social science, general science and religious studies. Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union s students also attend sessions in music, arts, computer applications, science, and health and physical education. The school offers a range of sports activities, including soccer, volleyball, golf, cross country, basketball, cheerleading, softball, baseball, and track and field. In addition, the school has a library and media center. The school is accredited by the Solomon Schechter Day School Association and the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools. The school is located in West Orange, N.J.
