We provide a variety of financial planning and consulting services to individuals, families and other clients regarding the management of their financial resources based upon an analysis of their current situation, goals, and objectives. Thomas Donnelly, JD, CFP® is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ based in West Hollywood, CA. He is the founder of Calamus Financial Planning, the fee-only financial planning firm dedicated to helping LGBT people with their financial lives through retirement, tax, insurance, investment, and estate planning. He specializes in comprehensive financial planning for unique family structures, LGBT estate planning challenges, and gay-specific retirement concerns. Mr. Donnelly received his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law, and his Masters of Education from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a graduate of the UCLA Personal Financial Planning program. In addition to his focus on LGBT personal finance issues, Mr. Donnelly is also an expert in debunking financial myths. He has been featured in several publications, including Forbes and U.S. News and World Report, and is a financial literacy instructor with Humanist Learning Systems. His online course is titled “Avoiding Financial Falderal: Investment Myths to Beware.” Mr. Donnelly is a proud member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the nation’s preeminent organization of fee-only financial planners. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association, the principal professional organization for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professionals and educators, as well as a member of the XY Planning Network, the leading organization of fee-only financial advisors who are focused on working with Generation X and Generation Y clients. Mr. Donnelly lives and works in West Hollywood, CA, the greatest gay city in the world, with his partner of twelve years.
