Ms. Ting transformed a gown that didn't fit me (missed by 4-5 inches in the back) to one that fit and looked even more elegant. She was creative, quick, and cost was reasonable - best part was the quality of her work.

Oh my, we are so grateful to Betty Ting for her amazing talents. Not only did she create a custom fit bodice for our daughter's wedding gown, she also re-styled the skirt of the gown to our specifications. Her knowledge of sewing and her attention to detail are remarkable, and I as a seamstress can fully appreciate the challenges we presented to Betty. She was so kind and patient to us and never rushed us out of her sewing room. Betty charged us a very fair price, especially considering the extra hours she spent on every small detail. We wouldn't hesitate to ask for her help again. Betty is a true professional, and I have full confidence in her experience and dedication to customers. Awful experience. She nearly ruined my wedding dress! The first time I went in for a fitting, she took the whole thing in way too far, and CUT the material so that she could only let it out a small amount after that. The sides of my dress were uneven. I went in four times, and it was still too tight, and looked lopsided. I had to bring my dress to someone else to fix (five days before my wedding!). The person I brought it to the second time did what he could to make the dress fit (took the dress out as far as possible since she cut it). It ended up looking fine ONLY because of the second tailor who saved the day for me. He commented that no one should cut any fabric before they make sure it fits. Betty was very nice and reasonably priced, but I would never go back, and would definitely NOT recommend anyone bring something as important as their wedding dress to her!

With the upcoming Oscar Awards, my husband surprised me with tickets to attend the gala at George Eastman House. Of course, I had not a thing to wear. I found Betty kind of by mistake while surfing the Internet. The BEST mistake I ever made.



In 7 days Betty created an exact replica of Jennifer Hudson's 2011 Versaci gown. Without a pattern and only a computer printed photo of the dress, she exceeded my expectations. I received so many compliments from women and their husbands; one stating, "Had there been an Award for the Best Dressed...you would have won, hands down."



Betty's expertise, vision, talent and master sewing skill is beyond belief. She is friendly, considerate, professional, accurate, meticulous, and detailed-oriented. She gave suggestions when I was unsure about a fabric or a hemline length, offered a useful coupon at the fabric store saving me $75 and even made a matching hankerchief to compliment my husband's tuxedo. I can't wait to use her services again. If you do hire Betty, please keep in mind I have first dibs on her for future Oscar parties, as I want my gown to be a one-and-only creation by Betty Ting. :)

Betty took a bridesmaid dress that (totally) did not fit me and turned it into a beautiful corset back dress.

Other seamstresses and tailors told me that nothing could be done to fix (make it fit!) the dress. Betty took one look at it on it, and drew a quick sketch of a corset back as a solution to the (too small) dress.

It fits and looks great!

Betty Ting has made 5 evening gowns for my wife. Each gown was made from a photograph from a fashion magazine - InStyle, W,Vogue. All five evening gowns have 2-3 foot trains. We provided Betty with the fabric for the gowns, fabric that we purchased from a textile house in Toronto.



The most recent evening gown that Betty made for my wife is a beautiful turquoise backless lace ruched gown with a two foot train. Betty's attention to exquisite detail is the work of a truly gifted professional seamstress. We were to receive a lace lining for the dress from Toronto on a Wednesday. We received a notice on Friday that we could pick up the package containing the fabric at the US Post Office on Saturday at 9:20. I assured Betty that I would have the lace fabric to her by 9:45 that morning. Betty worked the rest of the morning and into the afternoon [4:30] so my wife could wear the dress to the Cotillion Dinner Dance at Oak Hill Country Club that evening. My wife received many comments of how beautiful her dress was, and a comment from the director of the Cotillion who said to her, "I have never seen a more beautiful gown." This gown would match any evening gown worn at the Golden Globe Awards or Academy Awards.



We are now making plans for the next dress to be sewn by this beautiful gifted and talented seamstress.

We have just returned from our youngest daughter's wedding in Washington, DC. Several months ago, I was looking for a seamstress to sew my outfit. I found Betty Ting on the web and coincidentally also got her name from Patricia's Fabrics in East Rochester. Betty is an artist. We discussed the concept and I gave Betty a couple of patterns to achieve the design I had in mind. We met to purchase fabric, take measurements, have brief fittings and in a twinkling the outfit was complete. It is superb workmanship. I am critical about that as I designed and sewed the bride's gown. Betty's fee structure is VERY reasonable and her bookkeeping paperwork is very professional. This has been a delightful experience.

Betty is an amazing dressmaker! I would recommend her to anyone who wants quality, custom-fitted garments for a special occasion.



She created a custom wedding dress for me based on a drawing I created, and a few photos of other dresses I had tried on--without a store-bought pattern. I am very short and have a difficult figure to fit, so after shopping at several wedding dress stores, I realized finding a dress off the rack was not going to be my best option.



Working with Betty was the right way to go--she helped me to select quality fabrics, and met with me for several fittings. She was friendly, professional, and was able to accommodate my busy schedule for fittings. I received lots of compliments on my wedding day, and I was thrilled to walk down the aisle in a beautifully crafted dress that reflected my style, flattered my shape, and fit me perfectly!

Betty made my prom dress. It was silk material and she followed the design that I wanted for the dress. It was beautiful and this was 6 years ago. The dress is still just as beautiful as it was when I first put it on. I was so delighted that she was able to fit me for my prom dress. I am a very small Asian and have a lot of difficulty finding dresses that fit me. Betty measured me and there are no snags or mess ups in the dress she made for me. I received numerous compliments on the dress. I plan to ask Betty's to make my future wedding dress. Betty's prices are also very reasonable, especially for the excellent work she does. She is also very good at not wasting the fabric, which I still have from my prom dress. Thank you Betty for doing such a wonderful job!

I have known Betty since I was 8 years old. She has always been a motivated and hard worker. Over the years, she has sewn me many dresses and clothes which some of I've been able to hand down to my daughter. I've always loved Betty's work because she is very focused and makes my clothes fit me so perfectly. Many of the clothes she has made for me, fit me better than when I buy them in the store! She has also made dresses for my sister, which she also gives her highest compliments to Betty for her such wonderful designs of clothes. I am even smaller than my daughter and Betty has sewn me a few suits that I have worn for work. People has always asked me where would I find such perfect fitting clothing with such great designs to fit my body size; I just smile and say my very good friend Betty has made them just for me. You will be very pleased with Betty's designs as she really listens to exactly what you want and how you want things to fit. She is hands down a an astounding tailor and I would not trust anyone with my clothes as much as I trust her.

I presented Betty with a challenge in altering a custom made dress that was made out of the country and needed work within a two week time frame of when I received it. It was a Maid of Honor gown for an upcoming wedding out of the country and it was an intricate dress to say the least. Betty met that challenge with the utmost professionalism and dedication and got the job done within a week. It was an honor and a privilege to work with someone of her expertize and I will use Betty again for any of my future needs and will highly recommend her to all I know that need such services.

Betty transformed my Mother's early 1970's wedding dress into my 2011 wedding dress. It meant so much to me (and my parents) to wear my Mom's dress for our wedding. When I brought Mom's dress in, I didn't know how Betty would transform an October, long sleeve, big train dress into the steamlined look I prefered. I brought in some pictures of wedding dress designs I liked, and she took it from there. The process was seamless, and affordable. I was delighted to include my parents at my final fitting. Everyone was very moved.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Betty for the beautiful gown she created for my daughter's prom! The gown was made based on the theme of the prom - Nights in Tokyo. We found two gowns on the internet that we liked BUT we would have to send the measurements; and the gown was to be made in China. We didn't want to chance something going wrong! I found Betty via the Google search engine and decided to give her a call. She was accomodating from the very beginning. We showed her the pictures and she created ONE stunning gown from two different dresses. The gown was more beautiful that I imagined it would be. I wanted a wedding dress that was different. I found some material an described what I wanted to Betty. She nodded, asked me some questions and then said," Oh yes, I know what to do." And she sketched out the idea. I gave her the date it needed to be finished and went for several fittings. It was so easy and the result was SOO perfect. Everyone at the wedding commented on how much they loved the dress and how it was such a perfect expression of my personality.



I can sew pretty well but I could never make something as well as Betty can. She is really an extremely skilled seamstress (and fun and easy to work with).

I had a wedding dress that was a corset top. I needed it to be taken in about four inches in my bust, due to all the weight I had lost. Betty did an amazing job finding a way to take it in, not destroy the pattern, but enhanced the detail even more. I had a thousand and one complements the day of my wedding and I owe it all to her handy work. We needed a prom dress in three weeks, and had found a pattern. Betty met us at the fabric store to provide us with input into the type of fabric we should buy. We had two fittings for the dress a week apart, and the dress was ready to go several days before the big event! Betty was pleasant and efficient, and a pleasure to work with!

What a pleasure it was to work with Betty Ting in the creation of "my" dress for my daughter's wedding. She is a genius and belongs in New York in some haute couture salon.



She created the most beautiful dress I have ever owned and worn. My daughter's wedding took place in Chicago on a Friday evening and she "did not" want a "mother of the bride" look. It was a very chic and urban setting and I had in mind I wanted black lace, very clean lines and sophisticated. Betty read my mind and created the perfect little black lace dress. I received many complements at the wedding regarding my beautiful dress. From friends, family and strangers, young and old.



She started from scratch with no pattern. No problem for Betty. There were never any mistakes, fittings were on time and were never long. She was very accommodating regarding my schedule and a very warm and sweet person to work with.



Her eye for detail and for fitting is impeccable to say the least. As a designer, she stays on top of the latest fashions and makes the appropriate suggestions to her clients. She also is wonderful at vintage design. She also makes sure that her designs are very comfortable to wear and suit her body type.



I couldn't have found a nicer, more talented designer anywhere.

Betty has made some outfits for me, and has also done some alterations to outfits that are not your usual alterations. The results have been spectacular! I found Betty through the owner of Patricia's Fabric House in East Rochester, NY. I had an off-beat outfit (three-piece - top, pants, skirt)that had seen better days, but that I loved to wear. The style and flow of the garment fit me well; I just couldn't seem to find something else that I liked as much.



I brought the outfit to Betty and she consulted with me on the type of material to buy, as well as the timeframe and price I would be looking at. I purchased the material and Betty made me the outfit in two different colors. She even made some changes and improvements in the design ot the outfit and I receive many compliments whenever I wear either one.



I would recommend Betty to anyone, and am thinking about having a funky dress I love made for me in a summer color.
