Fox River Christian Church

It’s a big church, but it’s not hard to get connected if you roll up your sleeves and volunteer or join a small group. They go out into the community and are known by what they do in love. The pastors are never boring and you can always get something out of the messages and talk with someone after. On Sundays it is about putting God into your everyday life. They still have theological courses but they do those during the week along with small groups where you study the Bible and talk about Christian books at someone’s house. They always have free coffee or you can buy from the café. All the volunteers are really consistent if you are able to be consistent about when you attend. I had a 4K child last year at Fox River. My child went to 3rd sometimes and they do combine for fewer kids but it's still real kids church. They also have a few churches other than Waukesha if you are looking for one that is smaller or a different style of music. No church is going to be the church for everyone.

The church is very accepting towards everyone! The music is wonderful. In response to the comments that say that the musicians bring attention to themselves I would say that is inaccurate. The lyrics focus on God and the worship leaders often dance and have lots of energy and joy for the Lord. The sermons are very structured which I like. You always leave knowing what the main point is. The church is focused on the Gospel and having people understand that they are saved through grace in Jesus and nothing else. The church sermons tend to be very straight-forward, but if you join a Journey group you can dig deeper into the Word.

The messages are really watered down. A lot of times, the messages are based on what we can get out of a relationship with Jesus rather than glorifying God. They talk about how to live a "good" life as a Christian instead of focusing on our actual relationships with God. This church tries to be "hip" and "relevant" to bring in numbers and to make people want to come. Should we really care if we're pleasing people as long as we're fully glorifying our Creator? I think that a lot of younger generations are seeking a church community that's more sincere, real (not happy all of the time), and really honors God. I'm looking for a church that challenges me in my walk with God and teaches me to put God #1 in all that I do, not just something that makes me happy.

This church is great for people to hop back into their faith. I hadn't been attending church for years until my friend invited me to sit through an Easter service with her and I have been hooked ever since. The people are warm and friendly, and the messages are Bible based and address today's needs, problems, and struggles in life. I love the fact that they have childcare available for free for my two boys so they can play with kids their own age while I sit in service without one of them digging in my purse. The music is stuff you would hear on Klove on the radio, and well performed. I try to recommend this church to my girlfriends who are looking to get more out of life. You can finally leave church with a smile and refreshing attitude!!

I've been a member for over four years now, and I love it. This is the first church that I feel a part of, and can honestly say has led me to have a personal relationship with God. The music is great- and the band encourages the people of the church to have a heart of worship.



Speaking to the post about "the sales pitch." The sermon was based on GIVING from a Godly perspective, and how God blesses those who give from their hearts, without hope of anything in return.

Our church is the only church that I know that says "if you give to the church, but don't feel that God has blessed you since you have been giving to the kingdom of God, please let us know, and we will give you your money back."



I highly recommend our church. It has really opened my heart to God and to loving the people around me. My whole life has changed.



By the way... since when do we judge a church by someone's name?!

I just wanted to let everyone know what a joke this church is! I brought my Sister, Brother and Father in yesterday for some spiritual guidance and all we were given was a sales pitch. From the moment that the band got off the stage all the Pastor (Guy Conn) (what a name) talked about was giving money. Money this and money that. It went on for about an hour before we got up and walked out! We as a family will never be back. The repeated sales line "you can't out give God". Great job! Good luck brainwashing everyone!

Well we went to visit this church today for the first time and we were not impressed. My husband is 29 and I am 31 (so you know who this is coming from) The Sermon was GREAT but the music was not good at all. The first song seemed all about the band on stage. The congregation was sitting and just watched. My 9 year old son looked at me like What the heck is going on! The song belonged at a Christian rock concert not church. Don't get me wrong I love Contemporary Worship and use to sing on our praise team but this to me did not seem God Glorifying. They even have 2 huge screens that just showed close ups of the singers and guitar players like you would see at a rock concert. They also have lights that flow around them and the crowd like a rock concert. The Lead pastor seemed great but I will not go there again because of the music. It is way to loud and you just get distracted by all the stuff that's in front of you. To each his own, I know but if you want a God Church that's all about God and not about the Band on stage then this is not the church for you. You can find better. May God be with you on your journey and Heavy on your Heart!
