Northgate Apartments

If you like the ghetto.....If you like loud rap music,loud parties,fights in the parking lots,car break-ins and wannabe security towing resident cars for expired vehicle stickers then this place is for you. If you have a nice car you had better purchase the garage for an additional $50 per month. Otherwise you might wake up the next day to a broken car window or slashed tires. If you do decide to get the garage you had better invest a small fortune in mouse traps as the garages are infested with mice. Dont bother complaining to management, all that will do is just frustrate you more. Talking to the Northgate management is like talking to a rock. Horribly run apartment complex. It might look nice in the day time but as soon as it gets dark...it's ghetto heaven.

WATCH OUT! Northgate Apartments has gone completely downhill since it changed owners. It wasn’t a great place before the change but now it is even worse. When I moved in the carpets were absolutely nasty. There were strains around all of the edges as if the sprinklers had gone off and the carpet didn’t get properly cleaned. Halfway through our lease they decided to change their policy on gas grills on the deck. They claimed it was a national ordinance but when I asked for proof no one could provide it. They would however allow charcoal grills which is completely stupid, charcoal grills=open flame=fire hazard! Prior to my move in there was a fire at this complex so they have to have lots of insurance/fire inspections which requires them to go into your apartment a lot and whenever they want. You have no privacy at this place; they enter your apartment pretty much whenever they feel like it! There are many loud neighbors (paper thin walls) who like to party. I spent several nights up listening to cops breaking up parties/fights. There is security there but they are rent-a-cops who don’t do anything. The shades in the apartment are super cheap and don’t block out light. The equipment in the workout room is minimal and old so it is usually broke with an out of order sign on it. If you like to swim don’t rent here, because despite the fact that they have a pool you can only go when a designated older lady feels like watching the pool or when the office is open. If the lady isn’t there you can’t swim on weekends/holidays and she doesn’t like to be there very often. You would think they would get someone who could save a life to watch the pool, but warning the pool guard lady is no lifeguard, she is a pool pass guard, keeping your pass until you leave. Amy, the manager is a major grouch and doesn’t care about the tenants. I think she hates her job and now that Northgate is under new ownership, the on location office workers can’t make any decisions, everything has to go through the new out of state owners. When I asked for a few extra days after my move out date they refused but it took a week or so of trying to contact the new owners because like I said they can’t make any decisions on site. I was even willing to pay extra for the extra days but they don’t care about their tenants. Upon move out you are not allowed to walk through the apartment with the inspectors for the inspection so you have to wait 45 days to see how bad they are going to screw you and mark my words, they will screw you out of your hard earned money. They charged me $25 for a broiler pan that was never in the apartment to begin with, accusing me of stealing it-why would I want a broiler pan that never existed, I have never broiled anything in my life! They also charged me $50 for over cleaning my oven. Apparently I left oven cleaner in the oven and they had to replace the glass, which is bull. I doubt they even replaced it, they probably just kept the money. Apparently I should have left the oven dirty. At least I wouldn’t have had to work to lose money. Finally they tried to charge me $25 dollars for a cut in the counter that was there when I moved in and written down on our move in inspection. When I told Amy I had proof I wrote this down upon move in she decided to give me the money back. I am so furious with her and this apartment complex, PLEASE DON’T RENT HERE or you will be sorry!
