        Disappointed. Walked in to find out what material my 100+ year old rings were made of. Based off this, I was hoping to get a significant amount of custom work done. However, the goldsmith couldn't even make a guess on the material on these rings. She said if there is no material stamp she can't tell. Well, I asked if she could tell me if it were brass or not. She was unable to rule that out either. These rings are in immaculate condition and were sample rings from the early 1900's. If a goldsmith can't tell the difference between brass or gold, I would really question their qualifications..She lost out on $1,000 + job because she wouldn't spend longer than .2 seconds looking at my rings. Hope this was a fluke, but be cautious.
