Established in 1957, Exceptional Persons is a nonprofit agency that works for people who suffer from developmental disabilities and families with child care needs. The agency provides residential and employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. Exceptional Persons conducts several rehabilitation activities, including exercise and cooking sessions and outdoor trips. The agency provides various recreational opportunities, such as arts and crafts sessions, sports activities and music classes. Exceptional Persons also offers the Child and Adult Care Food Program, which provides financial resources to child care homes to assure that the children are offered nutritionally balanced snacks and meals. The agency provides employment opportunities in the areas of vacuuming, polishing, trimming and mowing.
