- Dr. Beumer grew up in Gray Summit, Missouri, playing outside and reading as many books as possible (she got her first library card when she was 10 years old). She graduated from Greenville University in 1995 with a BA in Chemistry and Biology. She received her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine in 1999. She completed 3 years of residency in pediatrics at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics and started practicing pediatrics in Washington, Missouri, in 2002. She is a fellow of the American College of Pediatricians and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
