I'm only a novice scribbler, so I don't have much experience with editors, but I'd bet the farm there aren't many out there as good as Herta. She is helpfully and firmly critical when necessary and free with useful praise when you get it right. Plus, she is intelligent, personable, and great fun to work with.

Herta is a really good editor. Her comments are thorough, helpful and honest. Her suggestions are such that even an extensive revision becomes a nice challenge, rather than discouraging feedback.
