The Donut Cafe

Horrible experience! Lazy and rude employees, gross coffee, and only decent donuts. Never going back!

The Donut Cafe is under new management and not for the better. They are making the donuts smaller, but keeping prices high. When I went in there last, the tables were completely messy and ants were crawling around. When I went to the bathroom, I stumbled upon a whole row of ants! Disgusting! Employees were nice, but altogether The Donut Cafe is not worth your while.

For my daughter in law we ordered a cake for a baby shower with specific instructions for birds, a nest and flowers the decorator assured me she had it committed to memory. 4 weeks in advance I then took in a little teapot with the birds the nest and the dogwood blooms representing what I was looking for and offered to leave it with the decorator. She declined stating it was committed to memory. However the only thing she drew on her order sheet was a nest with robins eggs in it. Meantime the daughter in law ordered another cake for a small baby shower they were giving her at work on 5/10. So on 5/4 the day of our baby shower I go pick up the first cake and there are no birds so I ask the two people that are working and they have no idea nor were they willing to call the decorator to inquire. So On Sunday 5/5 the day of the shower I did get hold of the gentleman that owns the place and he checked with his wife and assured me there was no order for the birds on the cake because it was not on the order form. He could not help me and stated he couldn't get hold of the decorator to try and make it right for the shower due to start in 3 hrs time. I did not ask for an adjustment however I did express how disappointed I was. Now on 5/9 at 7:10 am I get a call to come and pick up a refund for the cake that was to be done today for the second shower at the school tomorrow. When I went to pick up the refund and see why they were cancelling the order I was told the owner felt they were unable to meet our request after all. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate, I felt like my daughter in law was showing good faith that maybe it was a case of miscommunication with the first cake by NOT cancelling the second order only to discover the owner was not sincere when he told me he was sorry and wanted to make it up for the first cake being wrong and his staff not being customer service focused upon the initial inquiry about the issue with the first cake.

Everything is beyond great at this place. People are courteous. Donuts are amazing and coffee is also. Best place in town and all around.

These are the best donuts. They are better than Krispy Kreme and that says a lot. I love love love this place and can't get enough. My kids are addicted to the sprinkled ones. I love how they close at 2 and give the donuts they don't sell to the homeless shelter.

The best Donuts I have ever had and the selection is huge, Long Johns, Jelly, Fritters, Cinnamon rolls and twist , Flavored cake and the best glazed I have ever had. They also are a full blown coffee house with espresso drinks.
