Overall

Exceptional Service and Food is Fantastic

Being from Connecticut, Italian food is everywhere. Also, the population within New Haven county knows all about good Italian cuisine (from Northern to Southern). In any case, Michael's is busy...especially on weekends. It is MY favorite restaurant by far....and as far as the waitstaff goes, they are busy too. I love Susan (part of Michael's waitstaff).

She is exceptional at what she does and has been doing it for years (and she does not have to work, she does it because she likes people). She is also an excellent cook in her own right! But to say the service was less than desirable is unfair, especially since most restaurants in the center of town do essentially the same thing...it's almost a "french" way of service----no one is going to rush you out and they want you to take the time to enjoy everything!...Don't go out to eat in downtown Wallingford if you are in rush. BUT YOU WILL ENJOY THE FOOD and that should be the reason why you are there.

Service is less than perfect

I went to Michaels because lots of people I know recommended it. I was given a gift certificate so I figured no better time than now to try it. I was seriously let down. The food was good, however the service was less than acceptable. Not once did our server come back to check on us. We had to ask someone elses waitress to help us.

The food was good. When it was time to pay we waited another 30 minutes because our order was not on separate checks as we had asked. We had 2 separate couples.

I will not go here again.
