Before becoming a physical therapist, Dominique earned her BA in Organizational Studies from Brown University in 2011 and spent 5 years working in corporate sales. Dominique is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and has experience as a group fitness trainer. She is certified in dry needling and is interested in pursuing further education in orthopedics and women's health.

The diploma is given only to physical therapists who have completed a rigorous, evidenced-based series of courses including: Certification in Spinal Manipulation or Cert. SMT (series of four courses), Certification in Dry Needling or Cert. DN (series of two courses, fifty-four total hours), Extremity Manipulative Therapy, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), and Differential Diagnosis & Multi-Modal Management of Upper and Lower Extremity Spine-Related Pain Syndromes.

Dry needling is a form of therapy in which fine needles are inserted into myofascial trigger points (painful knots in muscles), tendons, ligaments, or near nerves in order to stimulate a healing response in painful musculoskeletal conditions. Dry needling is not acupuncture or Oriental Medicine; that is, it does not have the purpose of altering the flow of energy (“Qi”) along traditional Chinese meridians for the treatment of diseases. In fact, dry needling is a modern, science-based intervention for the treatment of pain and dysfunction in musculoskeletal conditions such as neck pain, shoulder impingement, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, knee pain, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, or low-back pain. Single-use, disposable needles are used in this clinic.
