Dental Examination
Getting your child ready for a trip to the dentist can be a pretty daunting task, especially if they have acquired a fear of heading in for a dental exam. At Children’s Dental Associates Inc., we strive to provide your child with the most friendly, attentive, and caring atmosphere possible so that they can feel at ease during their check-ups and cleanings.
X-rays

Teeth Cleaning
After an examination, we perform a professional dental cleaning. During this time, we remove any tartar and plaque that is stuck to your child’s teeth. After cleaning, we polish the teeth to remove any stains. This can also remove any buildup that may be left on the teeth.
Fluoride Treatment
Silver Diamine Fluoride is an FDA-approved antibiotic topical solution that is clinically applied to control active dental caries and prevent further progression of disease. While the traditional way to treat tooth decay is by removing the decay and placing a restoration, this alternative fluoride treatment allows us to stop decay in it’s tracks by noninvasive methods.
Dental Sealants
A sealant is a thin, tough, plastic coating painted on the pits and grooves of a tooth to prevent tooth decay. A sealant can also help prevent small decay from growing larger. A tooth naturally has depressions and grooves on the chewing surface which can easily harbor bacteria and food particles. These bacteria and food particles if not removed with good brushing technique can lead to tooth decay. The sealant covers these pits and grooves and prevents food and bacteria from getting trapped.

Veneers
We are usually able to fill in broken teeth to make them look like normal teeth. We even use a cement that is the color of your child’s teeth. If that does not work, we offer veneers and caps to cover up any broken teeth.
Crowns
We can also fix missing teeth and have many options for how we do so. Typically, we like to place implants, which will act like the tooth’s replacement root. On top of the implants, we use crowns, which are artificial teeth, to restore your child’s mouth with normal-sized and shaped teeth.

She then went on to complete her dental degree at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2012. It was there she met her husband, and decided to move to Hawaii. After dental school, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry through NYU Lutheran at Kokua Kalihi Valley Community Health Center. It was during this time, her passion for Pediatric Dentistry and working with keiki sparked. Dr. Mary was appointed chief resident during her speciality training at the NYU Lutheran Pediatric Residency program in Hawaii.
