This place use to have the best Chinese food in Virginia Beach. But NO MORE Now they have new owners and the food is Horrible. 2014 new owners. Pure garbage.All their food is tasteless. No flavor at all.The pork fried rice had no flavor at all. It was very bland and it also taste like it was made weeks ago or longer. Not fresh at all. It was yellow too. Pork fried rice should be dark from using double-thick soy sauce. I also ordered Egg drop wonton soup. The soup was very watery/thin and it also had no flavor. Very poor quality food. These people don't know what their doing.They need to call the old owners to show them how to cook the way they did.I have been going there for over 20 years when the old owners had it. I stopped going there after a few tries since the new owners took over.They are the worse Chinese restaurant in Virginia Beach.I would not recommend this place to anyone.

In sharp contrast to the other reviewer, I have had very pleasant experiences with China City. I have ordered from them twice; both times, I spoke with a very polite gentleman who took my order quickly and accurately. They accept credit cards, which was a nice surprise after being in Brooklyn where most small restaurants only allow payment with cash. The food arrived within the amount of time stated, and it was fresh and tasty. I am a vegetarian and was delighted that they have meatless egg rolls. Although certainly not a "five star restaurant", I gave it five stars because it fulfilled all my expectations of a fast food Chinese restaurant: yummy food, friendly service, inexpensive prices and quick, free delivery. (And, honestly, who expects businesses to deliver for less than $10 with gas prices what they are today?) Best Wishes to all!

I recently called for a delivery order, but was very dissatisfied with the service given to me by the customer service representative (the person taking my order). She was rude and kept interrupting me while I was trying to give her delivery instructions, and while I was trying to place my order. She did not tell me any specials they had, if any, and did not tell me until the last minute that the delivery minimum was $10. I didn't even go through with the order because of her attitude.
