Old Cypress Canoe Rentals

My family rented from Old Cypress Canoe Rentals this past week and had an amazing time. Old Cypress is a small, family owned business that rent canoes, kayaks, and tubes on Holmes Creek in Vernon. The trip started at Cotton Landing and it only took us about 10 minutes to paddle to Cypress Springs. Cypress Springs was absolutely gorgeous. It is a deep, clear spring and the water is so blue it is unbelievable!! Being that it is Fall, we had the spring to ourselves. We couldn't have picked a better day. The weather was warm and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We spent the day snorkeling, swimming, and jumping off the rope swing. There is a nice sandy beach area to relax and picnic. The canoe trip was only 3 miles long, which was perfect for our family. I don't think our 4 year-old would have sat still for a longer trip. The end of the trip led us to a canoe launch located at the rear of Old Cypress Canoe Rentals' property. The path up to our car was only a short walk and was clearly marked. It was nice not to have to wait at the end of the trip for the shuttle to take you back to your car. We had a blast and will definitely be back!
