Overall

Surprisingly strong wine list! (Yeah, I'm the idiot that goes to sports bars still hoping for a decent glass of wine.) Cool local beer options as well as popular microbrews. Great decor too -- crafted from skate and surf boards. The purse hooks under the bar were skateboard wheels -- fun touch! Didn't try the food this time, but the menu and what I saw being served looked delicious.

General Info
One fine afternoon in Venice, while two locals, Tom and Spoon, were enjoying a beer on the boardwalk, they wondered to themselves, ā€œwouldnā€™t it be great if we could have a bite of something delicious and nutritious right now and still watch the sun go down over the Pacific?ā€ One, a fisherman , the other a craft beer brewer, and both watermen, did the only reasonable thing: They went sailing. And they hatched the idea for the Venice Ale House. It was critical that ingredients for the menu be organic, sustainable and locally sourced whenever possible. the beverage list should be local too. After all, why ship beer and wine half way around the world when we can support great breweries and wineries right here in California? Most importantly, they wanted to create an atmosphere where locals and tourists alike can relax and enjoy the beach. a place where friends and family can enjoy a great meal, hoist a glass, share a laugh and catch the sunset.
