Pain Management
Anything that causes pain in people can be expected to cause pain in animals. Pets may not show the same symptoms of pain as people do; they usually don't whine or cry, but you can be sure they feel it. Pain medications needed will depend on the surgery performed. Major procedures require more pain relief than things like minor lacerations.

Hip Dysplasia Treatment
Radiology Services: Our on-site, digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many different disorders. By being digital we can pull up your pet's x-rays on the computer allowing them to be more conveniently stored, accessed, and shared. We also offer OFA X-Rays for the detection and assessment of hip dysplasia.
Heart Disease Treatment
Preanesthetic blood testing and EKG is important in reducing the risk of anesthesia. Every pet needs blood testing before surgery to ensure that the internal organs can handle the anesthetic. Even apparently healthy animals can have serious organ system problems that cannot be detected without blood testing. If there is a problem, it is much better to find it before it causes anesthetic or surgical complications. Some animals that have minor dysfunction will handle the anesthetic better if they receive IV fluids before surgery. If serious problems are detected, surgery can be postponed until the problem is corrected.

Wound and Fracture Care

Dental Surgery
Dentistry: Our dental services include full mouth dental radiographs, a thorough teeth cleaning, polishing, and a fluoride treatment; tooth extractions, and oral surgery. We also provide many different preventative options to best fit you and your pet. The before and after pictures on the right side of the screen are of a patient who had very bad breath and as you can see, very heavy tartar. It is always a good idea to get your pet in for a dental cleaning when you start to see yellow build up on the teeth; the earlier they get cleaned, the less teeth will need to be pulled later!
Veterinary Surgery
Procedures involving sutures require them to be removed in 10-14 days following the surgery. Many routine surgeries will have "absorbable" sutures which do not require a return visit.
Declawing
Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures including, but not limited to; spays, neuters, splenectomies, exploratories, cherry eye surgeries, declaws, enucleations, amputations, mass removals, etc. If you would like a surgery consultation please feel free to call us and schedule an appointment!
Spaying and Neutering
Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 6 months of age; though for larger breeds (Retrievers, Shepherds, Great Danes, etc) we prefer to wait to closer to 1 year. Larger breeds can take more time to mature to their full capacity. Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure and current vaccinations are required at the time of surgery. Laboratory Services
We offer multiple levels of in-house blood testing before surgery, which we will go over with you when you bring your pet in. Our doctors prefer the more comprehensive screen, because it gives them the most information to ensure the safety of your pet. For geriatric or ill pets, additional blood tests, electrocardiograms, or x-rays may be required before surgery as well.

Ward personnel are responsible for animal handling, bathing and grooming, cleaning, feeding, laundry, waste disposal, and running lab work. They assist the Drs and Technicians wherever necessary.
Senior Pet Care
Is our Media Manager and joined our team in 2012. She has 2 dogs; Wrangler and Melvin. She also has 2 cats; Walley and Moe and 11 chickens. She enjoys crocheting, gardening and being outdoors. A fun fact about Kali is: she likes to adopt senior pets so they can live out their golden years.
