        Established in 1989, Karl Strauss Brewing Company was the first brewery to open in San Diego in more than 50 years. Today, it operates more than 2,500 bars and restaurants throughout Southern California. The company organizes a range of events, such as children's art exhibitions, Guild Festival at the World Beat Center, West Coast Beach Volleyball and fashion shows with Flaunt magazine. In addition, it organizes various musical programs. Karl Strauss Brewing Company has a group events department that provides assistance for various events, including weddings, company meetings, birthdays, going away parties and rehearsal dinners. Its menu includes a variety of starters, salads, pizzas, burgers and sandwiches. The brewery s specialty dishes include blackened salmon, drunken shrimp, meatloaf and Cajun chicken pasta.
