Overall

This place is great. I always get gel nails. They do a great job. I've been in there for months. I've never seen anyone even get loud in there. Three different techs have done mine and each have done a great job. When I mess one up they fix it, seldom charging.

Overall

Tuscaloosa Nail and Spa is one of the worst places to go. The owner is rude. I went to Tuscaloosa Nails to get my nails done. The owner did my nails. I was attempting to get a pink and white set but the owner couldn't get it right. I informed him that I did not like my nail (he had only done one nail) and he became irate, took off his mouth piece, and started yelling at me and accused me of not knowing what I wanted. He went on to say that he was the owner and he knew what he was doing. I questioned why he was becoming upset and he denied being upset. However, it was very obvious that he was. When I requested that Katie finish my nails, he became extremely rude and stated, "I'm the owner and I'm not going to allow anyone to do your nails." He pretty much instructed me to leave his shop and appeared to become even more irate because I refused to let him take my nails off. I informed him that this was bad customer service and reminded him that I was a long time customer. The owner acknowledged that I was a long time customer but he let his emotions get the best of him. Doesn't he know that owners don't always get it right? He definitely needs a lesson on how to treat his customers. But before that, he needs a refresher course on how to properly do a pink and white set. Or better yet, he needs to stick to management and stay behind the counter.

Overall

The first time I went to get a full set of gel, they were great, it was busy but they got me right in and were extremely quick without compromising the quality of the job. The second time, the nails still look good, but they were very rough. Me and my friend were both bleeding from multiple fingers afterward and one of my fingers got an infection about a week after and has been swollen for 3 days, still not sure what exactly is wrong with it, however it is obvious that it is coming for the nail salon wound.

"Gel" sets are actually acrylic nails with a layer of gel over the top coat- $35. Acrylic full set- $25.
